I chose my tag as I liked that it has a double meaning. I was 17 at the time and I liked the aggression of it, the warning of imminent attack of an angry animal and also the second meaning of entanglement, like the knotting of wildstyle lettering that can be also used to describe bad traffic as a traffic snarl. I like the my name to run in traffic…
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Yo estaba tocando la batería en una banda de death metal en ese momento, lo que significaba depender de otros miembros de la banda para lograr mi salida creativa. El graffiti era un acto independiente cuando empecé. Sólo éramos yo y la ciudad. Siempre había replicado los logotipos del heavy metal en mis mochilas escolares y los escritores de mi colegio se dieron cuenta y me adoctrinaron en mi pasión de toda la vida por apoyarme a pintar.
I was playing drums in a death metal band at the time which meant being dependent on other band members to achieve my creative outlet. Graffiti was an independent act when I started out. it was just me and the city. I had always replicated heavy metal logos on my school bags and the writers at my school noticed and I was indoctrinated into my lifelong passion of getting up.

What do you try to say with your graffiti?
Principalmente mi graffiti es el enfoque narcisista general de «yo estuve aquí», embellecido con la búsqueda de estilo personal fuertemente influenciado por la agenda de escritura de estilo de la ciudad de Nueva York de «las letras primero» para que se vea bien. A veces puedo politizar mi trabajo si es necesario, pero me gusta hacer graffitis sobre la diversión, lo que debería ser, así que sí, hagamos un personaje de ET transexual o un Rhiannasaurus. ¿Por qué no?
Primarily my graff is the general narcissistic ‘I was here’ approach, embelished with the personal style quest heavily influenced by the NYC stylewriting agenda of ‘letters first’ to make it look good. Sometimes I can politicize my work if needed but I really just like to make graffiti about fun, what it should be, so yeah, lets do a character of tranny ET or a Rhiannasaurus. Why not?

What is your style?
Depende de cómo me sienta en el día. Tengo algunos enfoques diferentes. Tengo un flow orgánico con muchos rizos y se basa en la filigrana y la naturaleza para cuando estoy relajado y enfocado. También pinto un estilo mecánico futurista en 3D que es más agresivo y técnico. He estado experimentando con la incorporación de ambos estilos para hacer una sola pieza, lo cual me parece, me mantiene interesante, ya que es un poco más de desafío y requiere un poco más de tiempo y enfoque, lo cual puede ser difícil de obtener a veces…
Depends on how Im feeling on the day. I have a few different approaches. I have an organic flow with lots of curls and is based on filigree and nature for when I am relaxed and focus. I also do a futuristic mechanical 3D style which is more aggressive and technical to paint. I have been experimenting with the incorporation of both styles to make one piece, which I find, keeps it interesting for me, as it is a bit more of a challenge and requires a bit more time and focus, which can both be hard to obtain sometimes…

Me siento muy honrado de que hayas contactado conmigo. Hay grandes artistas en tu web y muchos que desconocia. Creo que es importante que no dejemos que nuestra cabeza visual sea decidida por algoritmos de instagramación. Una de las cosas que me gustaban de niño de los graffitis era el aspecto del descubrimiento. Ir en bicicleta por los barrios y fotografiar las piezas que descubres e ir a por un tren hasta el final de una línea para ver las piezas y luego caminar a casa petandolo y consiguiendo una foto fue una gran parte de ello para mí. Desplazarse con el pulgar del dedo por ig no es lo mismo.
Creo que un sitio web bien currado como el tuyo, con un alto nivel de trabajo destacado y un colectivo de artistas destacados menos conocidos puede mostrar un sentido de profundidad de la cultura y la conexión como artistas que tenemos a través de nuestra cultura. Los algoritmos no pueden hacer eso. ¡Sigue siendo humano!
I am really honored that you reached out and made contact. There are some great artists featured on here and a lot I am not yet familiar with. I think it is important that we don’t just leave our visual curation to be decided by instagram algorithms. One of the things I loved about graff as a kid, was the aspect of discovery. Riding through neighbourhoods on a bike and photographing pieces you discover and taking a train to the end of a line and then walking home bombing and getting flix was a big part of it for me. Scrolling with my thumb just isn’t the same.
I think a well curated website like yours, with a high standard of featured work and a collective of lesser known featured artists can show a sense of depth of the culture and the connection as artists that we have through our culture. Algorithms can’t do that. Stay human!

Sí, fue en el año 1995 en Victoria Rd. en Sydney. Mi compañero y yo conseguimos unos botes Krylons e hicimos una extraña pieza de Snarl de letras entrelazadas que permaneció en la pared durante 20 años.
Yeah, it was 1995 on Victoria Rd in Sydney. Me and my mate got our hands on some Krylons and did a weird interlocking letter Snarl piece that ran for 20 years.
