Where does your pseudonym come from?
Hace tiempo me suscribí a Ucrop (Укроп), que se traduce en inglés como Dill. Casi siempre firmaba en ruso, para que la gente supiera de dónde era. Pero en 2014 apareció en el territorio de Ucrania una organización nacionalista llamada Dill. Para que la gente no piense que tengo alguna implicación en política y en la guerra de Ucrania, cambié mi apodo.
Después de un tiempo, dejé de dibujar las clásicas letras de graffiti y empecé a pintar retratos. A la gente le gustó mucho lo que hacía y creé un proyecto creativo independiente llamado YouFeelMySkill. La idea principal de este proyecto es la motivación positiva del espectador a través del significado inherente al dibujo, el crecimiento creativo constante y un impacto positivo en el entorno urbano. De ahí que haya nacido este nombre: You Feel My Skill. ¡Siente el nivel!
Once upon a time, I subscribed to Ucrop (Укроп), which translates into English as Dill. Mostly I signed in Russian, so that people knew where I was from. But in 2014, a nationalist organization called Dill appeared on the territory of Ukraine. Because so that people do not think that I have any involvement in politics and the war in Ukraine, I changed my nickname.
After a while, I got away from drawing classic graffiti fonts and started painting portraits. People really liked what I was doing and I created a separate creative project called YouFeelMySkill. The main idea of this project is the positive motivation of the viewer through the meaning inherent in the drawing, constant creative growth and a positive impact on the urban environment. That is why such a name was born – You Feel My Skill. Feel the level!

What motivated you to get started painting?
Crecí en una zona donde los jóvenes escuchaban y crecían con el viejo hip hop americano. Entonces no había Internet y un ordenador en casa era una rareza. Una vez estaba sentado con un amigo y accidentalmente me di cuenta de que tenía una revista de graffitis, no recuerdo cómo se llamaba. Y cuando la abrí y vi los dibujos, me di cuenta inmediatamente de que el graffiti es una gran emoción. En cuanto al dibujo en general, he estado dibujando en papel desde la primera infancia, y el graffiti es la dirección que más me gustaba.
I grew up in an area where young guys listened to and grew up on old American hip hop. Then there was no Internet and a computer in the house was a rarity. Once I was sitting with a friend and accidentally noticed that he had a graffiti magazine, I don’t remember what it was called. And when I opened it and saw the pictures, I immediately realized that graffiti is a great thrill. As for drawing in general, I have been drawing on paper since early childhood, and graffiti is the direction that I loved the most.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
No tengo un estilo específico. Estoy cambiando constantemente. Siempre quiero probar cosas nuevas y desarrollarme. No puedo quedarme quieto. Creo que si uno se empeña demasiado en un estilo, tarde o temprano deja de desarrollarse. Y para un artista es como la muerte.
I don’t have a specific style. I am constantly changing. I constantly want to try new things and develop. I cannot stand still. I believe that if you drive yourself too seriously into one style, then sooner or later you will stop developing. And for an artist it is like death.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
¡Oh, sí! Esto fue en 2001. Dibujé la palabra «Bomba» con la leyenda «Ataque a las paredes desnudas». Pintaba con brochas, rodillos y pintura. En aquellos años en mi país era muy difícil con la pintura de graffiti, Internet no estaba tan desarrollado y era muy difícil encontrar los materiales necesarios, y si los encontrabas, costaban mucho dinero. Entonces era demasiado joven para esos costes monetarios. Por lo tanto, dibujaba todo lo que encontraba. Incluso intenté hacer un contorno con carbón. Esto sí que es divertido. Por desgracia, no me quedaban fotos, entonces una cámara era una rareza, y no recuerdo teléfonos con cámara en absoluto de mis amigos y mi familia.
Oh yeah! This was in 2001. I drew the word «Bomb» with the caption “Attack the Bare Walls”. It painted with brushes, rollers and enamel. In those years in my country it was very difficult with graffiti paint, the Internet was not so developed and it was very difficult to find the necessary materials, and if you find them, they cost a lot of money. Then I was too young for such monetary costs. Therefore, he drew whatever came across. I even tried to make a contour with coal. Now this is certainly funny. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any photos left, then a camera was a rarity, and I don’t remember phones with a camera at all from my friends and my family.

No tengo una crew. Solía dibujar en ABCrew, Wend Crew, HoodGraff Team. Pero con la edad, la gente con la que pintaba dejó de hacerlo. Empecé a moverme solo, a dibujar bajo el apodo de Crope, y también a dirigir el proyecto Youfeelmyskill ART. Por cierto, casi todo el trabajo de este proyecto se hizo de forma ilegal.
I don’t have a team. I used to draw at ABCrew, Wend Crew, HoodGraff Team. But with age, the people with whom I painted stopped doing it. I began to move alone, draw under the nickname Crope, and also lead the Youfeelmyskill ART project. By the way, almost all the work in this project was done illegally.

Quiero decirles a todos los artistas que sean lo más libres posible, que no se encasillen en determinados estilos, que disfruten de lo que hacen, que disfruten de la vida, que viajen, que se desarrollen, que se liberen de las tendencias impuestas por el arte moderno y que amen el graffiti. El graffiti y el arte callejero son hoy la única forma de arte honesta y sincera que no obedece ni obedecerá nunca a la moda y a las marcas comerciales. ¡Ama la vida, a tus seres queridos, haz arte de verdad y todo será genial!
I want to tell all artists to be as free as possible, not to drive themselves into the framework of certain styles, to enjoy what they do, to enjoy life, travel, develop, be free from trends imposed by modern art and love graffiti. Graffiti and street art today is the only honest and sincere art form that does not and will never obey fashion and commercial brands. Love life, your loved ones, do real art and everything will be cool!
