¿Por qué tu tag es Radok?

Why is your tag Radok?

Ya había tenido un par de firmas antes, pero no me convencían, así que andaba buscando una mejor una tarde dibujando encajando diferentes letras por casualidad tenía un carrete de fotos por encima de la mesa de la marca Kodak y empecé a jugar con las letras, entonces lo giré Kadok, y finalmente cambié la primera K por una R, Radok me gustaba como sonaba, y como se juntaban las letras para dibujarlo, y hasta hoy llevo un cuarto de siglo pintando esas 5 letras…

I had had a couple of tags before, but these names didn’t convince me, so I was looking for a better one one afternoon drawing by fitting different letters by chance I had a roll of photos over the table of the Kodak brand and I started to play with words, then I thought in Kadok, and finally I changed the first K for an R, Radok I liked how it sounded, and how the words were put together to draw it, and until today I have been painting those 5 letters for a quarter of a century…

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?

What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?

Cuando era pequeño recuerdo que al salir de clase me tocaba acompañar a mi padre que era transportista a repartir por toda la ciudad y veía que iban apareciendo firmas en las paredes, era como un juego ir buscando las nuevas cada día, hasta que decidí jugar yo también, y así empecé, mis 4 o 5 primeros años solo hacía tags.

When I was a child I remember that when I left school I had to accompany my father, who was a transporter, to deliver all over the city and I saw that tags were appearing on the walls, it was like a game to look for new ones every day, until I decided to play too, and that’s how I started, my first 4 or 5 years I only made tags.

 

 

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

Me gusta tocar todos los palos, pero con lo que más disfruto y más me identifico diría que es Semiwildstyle.

I like to play all the styles, but what I most enjoy and identify with I would say is Semiwildstyle.

 

 

¿Qué te parece la idea de publicar tus piezas con una entrevista en la web elrincondelasboquillas.com?

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your graffiti on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com»?

Me parece muy bien que haya una página que recopile tantas entrevistas y piezas de gente de todas partes.

I think it is very good that there is a website that collects so many interviews and pieces of people from all over.

 

 

 

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Como te decía antes, en los primeros años solo hacía tags, algún throw up, y alguna letra suelta, pero la primera pieza no la pinté hasta 1999, con los colegas del instituto, recuerdo bastante cachondeo cuando la hicimos, me hice una pieza bastante grande para ser la primera y no puse mi nombre escribí Sauron dibujando un montón de monigotes alrededor era como un homenaje a un compañero que hacía un cómic del personaje de Tolkien.

Las +/-10 primeras piezas fueron muy diferentes entre si, 3d, wildstyle, simples, se podría decir que estuve buscando un poco un estilo a partir de ahí se podría decir que ya es una evolución podría coger una pieza del 2000 o 2001 y tienen un nexo común con una pieza actual. 

As I said before, in the first years I only made tags, some throw ups, and some letters, my first piece I painted it was 1999, with my friends of high school, I remember quite joking when we made it, I made a piece quite big to be the first one and I didn’t put my name I wrote Sauron drawing a lot of characters around it was like a tribute for my friend who made a comic of Tolkien’s character.

My first +/-10 pieces were very different from each other, 3d, wildstyle, simple style, i could say that I was looking a little bit for a style from there you could say that it’s already an evolution I could look a piece from 2000 or 2001 and this piece have a common link with a current piece. 

 

¿Qué es lo que mas te gusta del graffiti que te mantiene haciendolo?

What do you like the most about graffiti that keeps you doing it?

Son varias cosas, por un lado las amistades y las risas que te echas cuando te haces un muro, por otro que el graffiti es una droga, y aunque esté un tiempo sin pintar siempre seré adicto, cuando pinto no existe nada más y eso es lo que me atrapa.

There are several things, on the one hand the friendships and the laughter you have when you are painting a wall, on the other hand graffiti is a drug, and even if I’m not painting for a while I’ll always be addicted, when I paint nothing else exists and graffiti absorve me.
