Why is your tag Max017?

Max017: Mi tag es Max017, «MAX» son las iniciales de mi nombre chino, y «017» es el año en que comencé a pintar graffiti.

Max017: My tag is Max017, «MAX» is initials of my Chinese name, and «017» is the year when I first started to graffiti.

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?

What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?

Max017: Tuve la oportunidad de aprender conocimientos relacionados con el graffiti a través de revistas y películas cuando era adolescente. Descubrí que la forma de creación del graffiti era interesante, lo que me hizo desear probarlo, lo que tuve mi primera experiencia con el graffiti.

Max017: I had the chance to learn graffiti related knowledge through magazines and movies when I was a teenager. I found that the creation form of graffiti it was interesting which it   liked me wanna try it, then there was my first experience of graffiting.

 

 

¿Qué tratas de decir con tus graffitis?

What do you try to say with your graffiti?

Max017: Cuando comencé a hacer graffiti, hacia mucho bombing en lugares públicos. Lo hacia solo por diversión y para sentirme aliviado del estrés.

Pero poco a poco, con una mejor comprensión del graffiti, comencé a probar más posibilidades sobre la fuente misma como punto de partida, y a hacer que la fuente o el patrón fueran mi lenguaje de creación y que cada tema tenga su propio significado.

Max017: When I first started to do graffiti, I drew a lot of illegal bombs in public places. I did it just for fun and to feel  relieved from stress.

But gradually, with a better understanding to graffiti, I started to try more possibilities on font itself as a starting point, and to make font or pattern as my creation language and every single theme has its own meaning on it.

 

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

Max017: No me gusta estar restringido por el estilo. Intento buscar diferentes estilos en cada etapa, como hacer series de graffiti de caracteres chinos, series de jinetes y series 3D.

Max017: I don’t like to be restrained by style. I try to research for different styles in every stage, such as Chinese characters graffiti series, horseman series and 3D series.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Max017: Mi primera pieza fue creada en 2006 cuando la dibujé en la pared del colegio. Una noche llevé mi pintura de spray industrial al colegio y pinté en secreto y con cuidado. Aunque era bastante profundo, nunca olvidaría lo exultante que era.

Max017: My first piece was created in 2006 when I drew it on the school wall. One night I took my industrial spray paint to school and  graffitied it secretly and carefully. Although it was quite ulgy but I would never forget how excting I was.

 

 

¿Puedes hablarnos del graffiti en tu ciudad?

Can you talk us about the graffiti in your city?

Max017: La atmósfera de subcultura en mi ciudad no ha sido buena, como mis colegas, los he visto ir y venir en este campo durante mucho tiempo. El Graffiti ha experimentado una fase de latencia durante aproximadamente cinco años. Durante ese tiempo, no había ni un escritor en la ciudad ni una nueva pieza de graffiti. Pero hoy en día, muchos escritores nuevos están dandole ahi fuera , lo que crea una mejor atmósfera en el campo del graffiti.

Max017: The atmosphere of subculture in my city hasn’t been good, like my colleagues, I’ve seen them come and go in this field for a long time. Graffiti has experienced  a lag phase for about five years. During that time, there was neither a writer could be found in the city nor a new graffiti piece. But nowadays, many new writers are spewing out of the stage which makes a better atmosphere in graffiti field.

 

 

¿Cuál es tu crew?

What is your crew?

Max017: Mi nombre de crew es Beacon Tower. Nuestros miembros de crew son de cuatro ciudades diferentes de la ruta de la seda antigua en el oeste de China. Beacon Tower era la forma más antigua pero más eficaz de entregar mensajes en la antigua China. Así que esperamos que nuestros miembros se reúnan como la torre del faro para llevar la cultura del graffiti a más lugares.

Max017: My crew name is Beacon Tower. Our crew members are from four different cities of ancient silk road in western China. Beacon tower was the oldest but the most efficient way to deliver messages in ancient China. So we hope that our members could gather together as the funtion of beacon tower to deliver the graffiti culture to more places.
