¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Realmente no recuerdo porqué elegí este nombre, pero después de varios años estudiando las secuencias entre estas letras, parece obvio. Me di cuenta de que no era el único escritor que utilizaba este seudónimo, así que añadí 97, que es el año en que empecé a hacer grafitis.

I don’t really remember why I chose this name, but after several years of studying the sequences between these letters, it seems obvious. I realized that I was not the only writer to use this pseudonym, so I added 97, which is the year I started graffiti.

What motivated you to get started painting?

Los amigos, ¡por supuesto! Aunque siempre he dibujado desde pequeño, empecé a hacer graffiti en el instituto con mi primera crew «EPK». Ellos fueron los que me introdujeron en el mundo del graffiti y me pusieron mi primer spray en la mano.

Friends, of course! Even though I have always drawn since I was little, I started graffiti in high school with my first crew «EPK». They were the ones who introduced me to the world of writing and put my first spraycan in my hand.

 

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

Cuando pinto, me gustan las letras legibles con efectos sencillos pero eficaces. Cuando no hago letras, mi estilo es una mezcla de realismo y abstracción a través de formas y colores.

When I write, I like legible letters with simple but effective effects. When I’m not doing letters, my style is a mix of realism and abstraction through shapes and colors.

Do you remember the first piece?

Honestamente no y no importa… lol

Al principio hubo muchos fracasos, intentaba muchas cosas diferentes inspirándome en mis escritores favoritos. Esto a menudo resultaba mezclas no muy agradables…

Busqué durante MUCHO tiempo y realmente encontré mi propio estilo cuando dejé de querer hacer cosas complicadas con flechas por todas partes (aunque me encantan y respeto todos los estilos). Lo que me gusta es intentar hacer letras bonitas, sencillas y legibles, el resto del placer está en el relieve y los efectos de color para darles impacto.

Así que la primera pieza que me gustó y aprecié no es tan antigua.

There were a lot of failures at the beginning, I was trying a lot of different things taking inspiration from my favorite graffiti artists. This often resulted in not very nice mixtures…

I searched for a LONG time and really found my own style when I stopped wanting to do complicated things with arrows everywhere (even though I love and respect all styles). What I like is trying to make beautiful letters, simple and readable, the rest of the pleasure lies in the relief and color effects to give them impact.

So the first piece that suited me well and that I appreciated is actually not that old.
