Empecé con el nombre de Funcrime y suponía que el nombre hablaba por sí mismo, disfrutando haciendo crímenes (significando, actividades ilegales)
Solía escribir Satur, Turs durante la década de los años 90 y ahora uso el apodo de Func’88 apodo, el numero 88 es el año que comencé esta mierda del graffiti.
I started with the name Funcrime and i guess the name speaks for itself, having fun doing crimes (meaning illegal activities)
I used to write Satur, Turs during the 90’s and now i’m using the nickname Func’88, the 88 is for the year i started this graffiti shit.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?
What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?
Viendo CR. Stecyk haciendo tags de huesos de rata en el vídeo-Future Primitive, creo recordar. Además veia a los chicos de mi barrio, Capone, Cesar, Bronco, Arsenic, Torpe, Senior … Después de esto, supongo que por la emoción de hacerlo, haciendo algo que la mayoría de la gente no entiende, siendo un marginado y existiendo entre mis compañeros.
Seeing CR. Stecyk doing Rat Bones tags in Future-Primitive video so far i could remember. Then guys in my neighborhood, Capone, Cesar, Bronco, Arsenic, Torpe, Senior… After that i guess for the thrill of it, doing something most people didn’t understand, being an outcast and existing amongst my peers.
¿Qué tratas de decir con tus graffitis?
What do you try to say with your graffiti?
No estoy diciendo nada, mi graffiti no tiene mensaje nada de política. Tan solo lo hago por divertirme y para que la gente se envuelva en el. No es gran cosa.
I’m saying nothing, my graffiti aint got no message or politics. i’m just doing it for the fun of it, for the people involve in it. No big deal.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
La gente me dice que desde hace tiempo lo que hago es como un estilo galáctico pero para mi es un poco anticuado y sobre estimado. Mis amigos suelen decir que soy «un metal pesado» sobre todo debido a mis formas angulares y agresivas, de alguna manera estoy tratando de perpetuar el espíritu del viejo estilo de parís (de los años 80) añadiéndole un toque moderno «Ultra». Básicamente no pinto colores planos, pero en su mayoría hago humo que se desvanece con boquillas (normales).
Soy bastante conservador, mantengo las normas del graffiti que aprendí en mi infancia: letras/ personaje / fondo. No me involucro en «mierdas decorativas» o «murales artísticos», respeto las técnicas avanzadas, pero prefiero la movida cruda.
People called what i’ve done «Galactic Style» for a long time but for me it’s outdated and over-played. My friends used to say i’m «Heavy Metal»…mostly because of my angular and aggressive forms Somehow I’m trying to perpetuate the spirit of the old paris style (80’s) adding to it a modern « Ultra » touch. Basically i don’t paint plain flat colors, but mostly vapours and fades with stock (standard) caps.
I’m pretty conservative, keeping the graffiti rules i learned in my childhood : Letters/Character/Background. I’m not into « decorative shit » or « artistic murals », I respect advanced techniques but i prefer raw stuff.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Fue tal vez alrededor a mitad del año 1988, mis amigos (EDC: Ecole du crime) y yo ya estábamos haciendo algunos tags en nuestro barrio, mientras que hacíamos skate por la zona un día nos dimos cuenta de que una tienda de pinturas de spray para coche estaban vendiendo esos sprays baratos porque tenían descuento, así que compramos un montón de sprays y nos fuimos a buscar un lugar para hacer nuestra primera «verdadera pieza». Tenía algunos bocetos dibujados y decidimos elegir uno de mis Funcrimes y así es como hice mi primer Graffiti.
Recuerdo lo mucho que me gusto inmediatamente poder hacer esto incluso si se trataba de un pedazo de mierda. Me encantó la sensación de pillar un espacio público sin preguntarle a nadie. Durante el mes siguiente fuimos algunos días durante el día y por la noche, y luego rápidamente tratamos de buscar nuevos estilos y habilidades. Desde ese día no he hacer esta movida, que me ha dado todo lo que soy ahora. Después de casi 30 años (tengo miedo de escribir esto !!!), Todavía me gusta hacerlo como el primer día.
Then, it was sometimes around the mid of the year 1988, my friends (Edc : Ecole Du Crime) and I were already doing a few tags in our neighborhood while skateboarding or zoning and one day we found out that a discount store is selling cheap retouching car spray paints, we bought a bunch of these and go find a place to make our first «real piece». I have already some sketches drawn and we decided to pick one of my Funcrimes and so i did my first ever Graffiti-piece.
I remember how much i immediatly loved doing this even if it was a crappy piece of shit. I loved this sensation of taking a public space without asking nobody. For the next month to come i did a few day and night, and then quickly try to found out new styles and skills. Since that day i never stopped doing this, it brings me almost everything i got today somehow. After almost 30 years (i’m scared to write this!!!), i still enjoy doing it like day one.

Can you talk us about the graffiti in your city?
París durante mucho tiempo fue la capital de la union europea referente al graffiti con un montón de crews que le daban duro y escritores. No voy a mentir a día de hoy soy un poco nostálgico de los años 90, pero todavía tenemos aquí unas pocas personas con mucho talento que siguen motivados.
Desafortunadamente no hay muchos lugares actualmente para pintar en el centro y en los suburbios cercanos debido a la ola masiva de construcción y re-habilitación, debido al aumento del precio de las propiedades. Pero todavía es una ciudad preciosa que siempre se ha podido encontrar un lugar para pintar si realmente quieres hacerlo como en cualquier ciudad del mundo.
Paris was a long time capital of the euro-graffiti with a whole bunch of killer crews and writers. I won’t lie on the fact im kinda nostalgic of the 90’s but we still have a few really talented and motivated people here.
Unfortunately there’s not that much spot these days in the center and close suburbs because of the massive wave of construction and re-habilitation, the increasing price of the estates. It stills a beautiful lovely city and you could always found a place to paint like any city in the world if you really want to do it.

Soy un diseñador gráfico / ilustrador y soy el director de una marca de skateboard.
Viviendo pintando graffiti nunca se me ha pasado por la cabeza el hecho de que sea una opción para vivir de ello, prefiero mantenerlo libre, fuera de cualquier actividad comercial.
I’m a graphic designer/illustrator and i’m art directing a skateboard brand.
Living out of graffiti has never been an option for me, i prefer keeping it free, out of any commercial activities.
