¿De dónde viene tu apodo? 

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Primero empecé a escribir sey/say/sae por las diferentes formas en que se podía escribir, pero con el tiempo he reclamado SEYER como mi firma.

I first started writing sey/say/sae because of the different ways it could be written but overtime I have claimed SEYER as my tag.

 

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Crecí en una calle frente a las vías del tren y muchos escritores ponían firmas en los garajes del final de la calle. De niño siempre me desconcertó el significado de esas firmas y nunca lo entendí, como tampoco lo entendían mis compañeros. En cuanto vi a alguien haciéndolo en mi colegio, me abrí paso en el mundo místico, me absorbió la pasión por él y he estado haciendo todo lo posible por seguir esa pasión me lleve a donde me lleve.

I grew up on a road that was opposite the train tracks and a lot of writers tagged up the garages at the end of the road. As a kid I was always mystified by what those tags meant and I never understood it, my peers didn’t understand it either. As soon as I saw someone doing it at my school I got a gateway into the mystical world, I was absorbed by my passion for it and have been doing my best to follow that passion whether it takes me.

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

He trabajado en muchos estilos diferentes durante los más de 18 años que he pintado, hay tantos estilos y formas de ser creativo con el graffiti que me han intrigado en la exploración y la realización. En este momento me estoy centrando en volver a mis raíces y desarrollar un estilo más fluido y salvaje y estilos de mano de fuego.

I have worked on so many different styles over the 18+ years that Ive painted, there are so many styles and ways of being creative with graffiti that have intrigued me into exploration and fulfillment. At the moment I am focussing on returning to my roots and developing a more fluid wild style and fire hand styles.

No hay duda, el graffiti es mejor donde lo encuentres, y siempre lo será. En mi opinión, es una forma de arte asombrosa, no hay ninguna otra que se base tanto en el entorno y que también esté tan impulsada socialmente y que abarque tantos ideales y enfoques diferentes. Es un mundo de locos y enfermos, conocerás a gente de todo tipo y pasarás momentos increíbles, todo por tu pasión. Me gusta que lo documentes y que explores las ideas que representa a través de tu página web, gracias.

There is no question, graffiti is best where you find it, and always will be. In my opinion it is an amazing art form, there is no art form that is so environment based and also so socially driven and encapsulates so many different ideals and approaches. Its a mad fucking sick world, you will meet all walks of people doing it and have some sick times, all for your passion. I like that you are documenting it and exploring the ideas that it represents through your website, thanks.

 

 

 

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Recuerdo cada obra, todas existen dentro de mí de alguna manera. He pintado graffitis con prisas, he pasado todo el tiempo que he podido intentando perfeccionar una obra. Me ha perseguido la policía, me han detenido y me han recibido como a un colega de honor. Dicen que uno es tan bueno como su última obra, pero a la mierda con eso, nunca se trató de una obra, sino del viaje, y cualquiera que haya hecho el viaje lo sabe.

I remember every piece, they all exist inside me in someway. I have painted graffiti in a rush, I have spent as long as I can trying to perfect a piece. I have been chased by police, arrested and I have been greeted as a honoured peer. They say that you are only as good as your last piece, but fuck that, it was never about one piece, it was about the journey, and anyone thats done the journey knows it.
