¿Te acuerdas de alguna anécdota de cuando viajabas a Estados Unidos?

Do you remember any anecdotes from when you traveled to the United States?

Anécdotas en Estados Unidos he tenido muchísimas, una anécdota que me viene a la cabeza, cuando iba a Miami a pintar galerías, iba con un colega por Miami Beach y este vendía marihuana, y siempre que íbamos a pintar le decía: ‘tio siempre te traes la caña de pescar, ¿no íbamos a pintar?’… y me dijo: ‘tio es un arma, una escopeta recortada’. y es que le robaban la marihuana y por eso llevaba esa escopeta.

Otra Anécdota fue cuando estaba pintando en Nueva York vinieron los ‘Vandal squad’ y para escapar había que subir una montaña, y las piernas no me funcionaban, menos mal que mis colegas me ayudaron a subir.

I have so many anecdotes from my time in the United States. One that comes to mind is from when I was going to Miami to paint galleries. I was with a friend in Miami Beach, and he was selling weed. Every time we went to paint, I’d say to him, «Dude, you always bring a fishing rod, we weren’t going to paint?…» And he said, «Dude, it’s a gun, a sawed-off shotgun.» It turned out that people were stealing his weed, and that’s why he carried that gun.

Another anecdote was when I was painting in New York, the Vandal Squad came and to escape I had to climb a mountain, and my legs weren’t working, luckily my colleagues helped me climb.

What can we find in your book ‘The life of a Pochone artist vol.1 (2003-2023)’?

He intentado en el libro esforzarme para que no solo salgan piezas mias sino las de más writers de todas las partes, para que sea más internacional el libro de fotografía, que no sea solo el libro del Pocho, podemos encontrar vivencias y buenas fotografías, que se vea viva la pared y que se vean los trenes circulando con gente dentro.

In my book, I’ve tried to make sure that not only my own pieces are included, but also those of other writers from all over, so that the photography book is more international, so that it’s not just Pocho’s book. We can find experiences and good photographs, so that the wall is seen alive and so that the trains are seen running with people inside.

¿Vais a publicar el libro volumen 1?

Are you going to publish volume 1 of the book?

Sí, el volumen 1 tardaré como mínimo un año porque tengo todo el material analógico sin digitalizar y es buen trabajazo. El volumen 2 al estar las fotos en digital la mayoría pues fue más fácil sacarlo.

Yes, Volume 1 book will take at least a year because I have all the analog material that hasn’t been digitized, and it’s a lot of work. Volume 2 was easier to put together since most of the photos are already digital.

 

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?

Lo que más me gusta del graffiti es lo que me ha aportado en mi vida y como lo he vivido y toda la gente que he conocido gracias a eso, aunque he conocido a mucho gilipollas también y mucha gente falsa, eso seria lo peor.

What I like most about graffiti is what it has given me in my life and how I have experienced it and all the people I have met thanks to it, although I have also met a lot of assholes and a lot of fake people, that would be the worst.
