Why is your tag FERT?
Básicamente mi tag surge de la palabra “fertilizante” inspirado por la idea de que al pintar un soporte inerte, en cierto modo lo estas dotando de vida, así que… lo estas FERTilizando.
Basically my tag comes from the word «fertilizer» inspired by the idea that by painting an inert support, in a way you are endowing it with life, so … you are FERTILIZING it.
¿Qué te motivó empezar a ser un muralista?
What motivated you to get started being an artist?
Siempre me he sentido atraído por el mundo del arte, pero en concreto, mi amigos del pequeño pueblo donde vivo, se empezaron a interesar en el HipHop y a pintar sus primeras cositas. Un día, uno de mis amigos me enseño un libro en el que aparecían centenares de escritores de todo el mundo y al ver a Daim, me dije “tengo que hacer esto”.
I have always been attracted to the art world, but in particular, my friends from the small town where I live, began to get interested in HipHop and to paint their first little things. One day, one of my friends showed me a book in which hundreds of writers from all over the world appeared and when I saw Daim, I said to myself «I have to do this».
¿Qué tratas de decir con tus obras?
What do you try to say with your artworks?
En la actualidad tengo varios frentes abiertos en paralelo, con los que trato de mandar distintos mensajes.
Por un lado con “GIVE A HAND TO NATURE” intento transmitir al público la preocupación por cuidar en medio ambiente y amar el entorno natural.
Por otro lado, junto al artista barcelonés Dase tenemos un proyecto llamado “Olé la Vida” con el que pintamos murales que irradian la alegría de vivir, la felicidad y el duende típico de nuestra cultura.
Para acabar, ahora estoy trabajando en “FERTSACE”, una obra mas experimental de la que ya hablaremos mas adelante… hahah
Nowadays, I have several projects in parallel, with which I try to send different messages.
On the one hand with «GIVE A HAND TO NATURE» I try to convey to the public the concern to care for the environment and love the natural environment.
On the other hand, together with the Barcelona artist Dase we have a project called «Olé la Vida» we paint murals that radiate the joy of life, happiness and the art typical of our culture.
To finish, now I’m working on «FERTSACE», a more experimental work that we’ll talk about later … hahah
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Mi estilo está compuesto por una gama de recursos visuales infinita (realismo, abstracción, tipografía, patterns, iconología…) .Planteo mis obras por capas (como en el Photoshop) y a partir de las líneas de composición y el mensaje que quiero tratar, defino el acabado del mural.
My style is composed of a range of infinite visual resources (realism, abstraction, typography, patterns, iconology …). I design my works in layers (as in Photoshop) and from the lines of composition and the message I want to try, I define the finish of the mural.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Mi primera vez fue en 2007, en una caseta abandonada a las afueras de mi pueblo. Intenté pintar una pieza de graffiti clásico, y pensé que eso me iba a dar problemas de adicción y así fue…hahaha. He evolucionado y experimentado mucho con mi estilo, pero desde ese día no he podido dejar de pintar.
My first time was in 2007, in an abandoned house on the outskirts of my town. I tried to paint a piece of classic graffiti, and I thought that it was going to give me problems of addiction and that’s how it was … hahaha. I have evolved and experienced a lot with my style, but since that day I have not been able to stop painting.
¿Dónde te gustaría pintar?
Where would you like to paint?
Me encantaría decorar una iglesia o un templo, pero del mismo modo en que se han pintado siempre las iglesias. Con sus iconos religiosos y toda la parafernalia, solo que con mi estilo.
I would love to decorate a church or a temple, but in the same way that churches have always been painted. With its religious icons and all the stuff, only with my style.
¿Cómo te imaginas el graffiti en el año 2085?
How do you imagine graffiti in the future (Year 2085)?
Muros pintados por impresoras gigantes, pantallas, realidad virtual, QR… fatal! hahah
Walls painted by giant printers, screens, virtual reality, QR … fatal! hahah
¿Qué es lo qué más te gusta del graffiti que te mantiene haciendolo?
What do you like the most about graffiti that keeps you doing it?
Para mi, pintar paredes es una necesidad vital. A parte, me siento bien al aportarle color a un espacio inerte y aburrido como son la mayoría de edificaciones.
For me, painting walls is a vital necessity. Besides, I feel good when I add color to an inert and boring space like most buildings.
