¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Dridali viene de un juego de palabras que inventé cuando era niño. Siempre me apasionó la obra de Salvador Dalí, mas que su obra, el personaje que creó. De alguna manera, aquel niño se sentía identificado con el loco pintor de los bigotes largos. De esta manera, mezclé mi nombre real con el del pintor.
Dridali comes from a pun I made up as a child. I have always been passionate about the work of Salvador Dalí, more than his work, the character he created. Somehow, that boy felt identified with the crazy painter with the long mustaches. In this way, I mixed my real name with that of the painter.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Mis inicios en el arte urbano fueron en 2017, pero todo comienza en 2014 cuando entré en la Facultad de Magisterio. Comenzar la universidad fue para mí el comienzo de mi madurez, una etapa de descubrimiento personal y profesional, donde se juntaron mis dos pasiones, el arte y la enseñanza. En los años de carrera me decanté por la vía artística, y en unas prácticas educativas en un centro del barrio de San Marcelino de Valencia, realicé un proyecto educativo sobre graffiti y arte urbano con alumnos de sexto de primaria, donde intervino uno de los muros del centro mi amigo Duke 103. Al verlo pintar se despertó algo en mí y me animé a probar en una antigua fábrica abandonada en el barrio donde vivía con mis padres, la obra fue un desastre ya que nunca había probado la técnica del spray, pero fue muy divertido. Seguí pintando en sitios poco habitados, ya que era algo que de alguna manera me asustaba y avergonzaba, pero con el tiempo me animé a pintar en lugares más visibles. Recuerdo el último año de carrera, donde me saltaba las clases para ir a ver como pintaba Duke 103, pensando que lo que me enseñaría él no lo aprendería en la universidad y en cierta manera no me equivoqué.
Con los años comencé a realizar mis primeros trabajos en persianas de pequeños comercios, me daba para pagar las pinturas y poco más, pero mi objetivo era seguir pintando y aprendiendo.
My beginnings in urban art were in 2017, but it all began in 2014 when I entered the Faculty of Teaching. Starting university was for me the beginning of my maturity, a stage of personal and professional discovery, where my two passions, art and teaching, came together. In the years of my degree I opted for the artistic path, and in an educational internship in a center in the San Marcelino neighborhood of Valencia, I carried out an educational project on graffiti and urban art with sixth grade students, where one of the walls intervened from the center my friend Duke 103. Seeing him paint something woke up in me and I was encouraged to try an old abandoned factory in the neighborhood where I lived with my parents, the work was a disaster since I had never tried the spray technique, but it was fun. I continued painting in sparsely inhabited places, since it was something that somehow scared and embarrassed me, but over time I was encouraged to paint in more visible places. I remember the last year of my degree, where I would skip classes to go see how Duke 103 painted, thinking that what he would teach me I would not learn in college and in a way I was not wrong. Over the years I began to do my first work on blinds in small businesses, it gave me enough to pay for the paints and little else, but my goal was to continue painting and learning.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Bueno, en cuanto al estilo, creo que aun estoy en la búsqueda de algo que me identifique, con los años voy probando cosas nuevas e intento no ceñirme a una sola temática con el objetivo de seguir encontrándome. Pero si tengo que identificarme ahora mismo con un estilo, hablaría del realismo o hiperrealismo con la técnica del spray.
Well, in terms of style, I think I’m still looking for something that identifies me, over the years I’ve been trying new things and trying not to stick to just one theme in order to keep finding myself. But if I have to identify myself with a style right now, I would talk about realism or hyperrealism with the spray technique.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Mi primera pieza la realicé en una fabrica abandonada en Valencia cuando tenia 22 años. Iba acompañado de mi primo Victor, quien me cubría las espaldas mientras yo pintaba un pájaro horrible, intentado realizar trazos dignos con las boquillas que vienen con los botes. Fue un desastre, pero un comienzo.
I painted my first piece in an abandoned factory in Valencia when I was 22 years old. I was accompanied by my cousin Victor, who covered my back while I painted a horrible bird, trying to make dignified strokes with the caps that come with the cans. It was a disaster, but a start.
