¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Daas es actualmente mi nombre legal, solo tengo un nombre, los ordenadores me odian porque siempre se necesita rellenar un nombre y apellido.
DAAS is actually just my legal name, I only have one name, computers hate me, because they always need a first / last.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Siempre me ha interesado el arte y de adolescente estaba muy involucrado en el skateboarding, creo que todos los gráficos salvajes de las tablas de skate, las pegatinas y la ropa de esa cultura fueron una influencia temprana en mi estilo y en mi deseo de hacer arte.
I’ve always been interested in art and as a teenager I was really involved in skateboarding, I think all the wild skate deck graphics, stickers and clothing from that culture was an early influence on my style and desire to may art.

What is your style?
Considero que mi estilo principal es una combinación de abstracción y representacionismo. No me ciño a un solo tema y disfruto de la evolución de mi obra.
No puedo estancarme y trabajar en un estilo específico que se repite. Creo que el hilo conductor de mi obra es la paleta de colores y el uso de formas abstractas para crear imágenes representativas.
I would consider my core style to be a combination of abstraction and representationalism. I don’t stick to one subject and enjoy the evolution of my work.
I can’t be stagnant and work in one specific repeating style. I think the one main thread that holds my body of work together is the colour palette and my use of abstract shapes to form representational imagery.

Do you remember the first piece?
El Panda Rojo en Katmandú, Nepal, aunque no es técnicamente mi primera obra, lo considero el mural que me puso en este camino. Encarnaba realmente la dirección que quería que tomara mi trabajo al utilizar formas geométricas y colores llamativos para crear esta enorme cabeza de panda en el lateral de un edificio de tres pisos. Toda la experiencia fue un torrente de emoción y anticipación para el futuro. Hoy en día, sigo trabajando a gran escala y sigo disfrutando de los retos de cada proyecto, centrándome en cómo la obra de arte puede desempeñar un papel positivo en la comunidad y el entorno visual.
The Red Panda in Kathmandu, Nepal, although it’s not technically my first piece, I consider it the mural that put me on this path. It really embodied the direction of where I wanted my work to go by utilising geometric shapes and bold colours to created this huge panda head on the side of a 3 story building. The whole experience was a rush of excitement and anticipation for the future. These days, I continue to work on a very large scale and still enjoy the challenges of every project, focusing on how the artwork can play a positive role in the community and visual environment .
