¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Alrededor del año 1989 me di cuenta de los graffitis en mi ruta de autobús hacia y desde la escuela. Hoy pinto por varias razones, principalmente para recordar a las personas que he perdido, pero sobre todo para divertirme.

Around 1989 I noticed graffiti on my bus route to and from school. I took my first tag around 90/91 just a youngster running around with neighborhood kids. fast forward today I write for a few different reasons mainly is to remember the people I’ve lost, but mostly I’m just having fun.

What is your style?

Crecí en el Área de la Bahía y vivo en Los Ángeles. Mi estilo es un híbrido del estilo tradicional del Área de la Bahía con mi interpretación de Los Ángeles.

Growing up in the Bay Area and living in Los Angeles. My style is a hybrid of traditional Bay Area style with my interpretation of Los Angeles.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Mi primera pieza decente fue en 1998 en el túnel Keeds en Hayward California es un túnel de tren de cercanías al lado de la línea Bart / metro. El túnel había sido pintado durante años, pero sólo el interior y la parte exterior oeste. Decidí pintar la parte exterior este del túnel que nunca se había hecho antes. Recuerdo que era la pieza más grande para mí en aquel momento y que el muro me llevó dos días. Una vez terminada, me sentí orgulloso y poderoso, una extraña sensación de locura imparable. La expectación por revelar las fotos. Hoy esas emociones al pintar han desaparecido hace tiempo. La obra fue publicada en la revista PHANTOM (MEWZ + RETRO) en aquella época no teníamos redes sociales, así que publicar en una revista significaba que habías hecho una buena obra.

My first good piece was in 1998 at keeds tunnel in Hayward California it’s a commuter train tunnel adjust to the Bart/metro line. The tunnel had been painted for years but only the inside and west outside part. I decided to paint the east outside section of the tunnel which had never been done before. I remember it being the biggest piece for me at the time and the wall taking me 2 days . Once I finished I felt proud and powerful a strange unstoppable feeling crazy to think back about it. The anticipation of getting the photos developed. Today those emotions in painting have been long gone. The piece was published in PHANTOM magazine (MEWZ + RETRO) at the time we didn’t have social media so getting published in a magazine meant you nailed a good piece.
