Where does your pseudonym come from?
Astre significa estrella. Siempre me gustaron estas letras. Empecé con Ares pero vi que ya estaba usado, pero me seguían gustando estas letras, así que encontré Astre.
Rug llegó en 1995 cuando quise cambiar mi nombre por algo más rápido y agresivo.
Astre means star .I always liked these letters.I began with Ares but saw it was already used butI still liked these letters, so I found Astre.
Rug came in 1995 when I wanted to change my name for something faster and more aggressive.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Yo vivía en la línea 13 del metro, que era la más destruida de todas las líneas con el 93NTM que controlaba la línea. Estaba realmente fascinado y empecé a hacer preguntas hasta que descubrí que mi hermana conocía a los mejores escritores de París.
Le pedí algunos consejos y empecé a pasear por la ciudad en busca de graffitis. Fue el comienzo de un largo viaje que empezó en 1988.
I was living on the 13th line of subway who was the most destroyed of all the lines with the 93NTM who controlled the line.I was really fascinated and began to ask questions till I discovered my sister knew the best writers in Paris.
I asked for a few tips and began to walk in the city looking for graffiti. It was the beginning of a long journey began in 1988.

What do you like most about graffiti?
Me gusta mucho ese momento en el que estas solo con tu pieza y no importa lo que pase a tu alrededor, legal o ilegalmente.
Me encanta probar otras combinaciones u otros nombres.
He descubierto que dependiendo de la palabra que dibujes, puede ir en formas que nunca pensaste antes, como empezar con la A o una R puede crear 2 estilos y piezas totalmente diferentes al final, por lo que a veces la gente se confunde hasta que descubren que las piezas son todas mías, JAJA.
I really like this moment you re alone with your piece and it doesn’t matter what happens around you , legally or illegally.
I can t only do my name .I love to try other combinations or other names .
I discovered that depending on the word you re drawing, it can go in ways you never thought about before .Like beginning with the A or a R can create 2 styles and pieces totally different at the end, so sometimes people are confused till they discover the pieces are all from me, JAJA.

No tengo ningún problema al respecto. Siempre es un placer compartir el trabajo con otras personas y te agradezco tu interés. Siempre es agradable ver que no te olvidan entre la enorme cantidad de gente que hace graffiti.
I have no problem with that. It s always a pleasure to share his work with other people and I thank you for the interest. It s always nice to see you re not forgotten in these huge numbers of people doing graffiti.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Recuerdo esta primera sensación, la pintura barata con este olor particular, la sensación de hacer algo ilegal y mirarlo y decir ¡estoy seguro de que puedo hacerlo mejor! Y nunca paré desde ese día.
All right I remember this first feeling, the cheap paint with this particular smell, the feeling to do something illegal and looking at it and say I m sure I can do better than that ! And I never stopped since that day.
