¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Es curioso pero vino en base a una conversación con un conocido que dijo que veía en mí algo malo algo como si fuera magia , “magia negra” y al escuchar eso me atrapó ya que la magia negra, las limpias, la música cumbia, el tequila, etc forma parte del folclore mexicano y quise llevar ese apodo por esa razón!.

It’s funny, but it all started with a conversation I had with an acquaintance who said he saw something dark in me—something like magic, “black magic.” When I heard that, it really struck a chord with me, since black magic, spiritual cleansing rituals, cumbia music, tequila, and so on are all part of Mexican folklore, and that’s why I decided to adopt that nickname!.

  

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting? 

Creo que siempre fue el querer imitar lo que veía en revistas y en las calles el saber que se siente estar pintando en un muro , el cómo ver los colores se van uniendo Y algún día poder pintar con quienes yo veía en las revistas o en internet y poco a poco se va logrando!.

I think it was always about wanting to imitate what I saw in magazines and on the streets—knowing what it feels like to paint on a wall, seeing how the colors come together—and hoping that one day I could paint alongside the people I saw in magazines or online. And little by little, it’s coming true!

 

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?

Lo que más me gusta es todas las oportunidades y aventuras que me da, el viajar , conocer nuevos artistas, compartir no solo gráfica si no ideas y momentos en nuestra experiencia.

Lo que menos me gusta son los egos, el que aya artistas que no apoyen o compartan con los que van comenzando, a mí me tocó y fue difícil más no imposible sobresalir de donde soy.

What I like most are all the opportunities and adventures it offers me: traveling, meeting new artists, and sharing not only artwork but also ideas and moments from our experiences.

What I like least are egos—the fact that there are artists who don’t support or collaborate with those just starting out. I’ve been there myself, and it was difficult, though not impossible, to make a name for myself where I’m from.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com«?

Es super cool creo que espacios como el rincón de las boquillas nos ayuda a conocer y conectar con nuevos artistas ,Ya sea wild style, realismo, etc el conocernos entre sí forma nuevas alianzas y canales de con para en algún futuro colaborar unos con otros!.

I think it’s really cool that spaces like “elrincondelasboquillas” help us discover and connect with new artists. Whether it’s wild style, realism, or something else, getting to know each other creates new partnerships and channels of communication that might lead to future collaborations!

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Claro que sí fue en una exposición de graffiti en mi localidad, fue un animal super bizarro tenía partes de un caballo y una serpiente y lo pinte con pintura vinílica caducada el olor era espantoso jajaja todos en esa exposición me querían sacar de ahí.

Me siento feliz de la evolución que a tenido mi obra porque es un proceso que he llevado desde 0 hasta el día de hoy, día con día sigo aprendiendo de más colegas y ese mismo conocimiento lo junto con el mío y los comparto con las nuevas generaciones que salen aquí en mi localidad y claro la comunidad que se acerca a preguntar, en un tiempo fue difícil pero hoy tenemos muchas herramientas para poder crear y llevar más allá nuestra gráfica.

Sure, it was at a graffiti exhibition in my town. It was a really bizarre creature—it had parts of a horse and a snake—and I painted it with expired vinyl paint. The smell was awful, hahaha. Everyone at that exhibition wanted to kick me out.

I’m happy with how my work has evolved because it’s a process I’ve taken from scratch to where I am today. Day by day, I keep learning from other artists, and I combine that knowledge with my own to share it with the new generations emerging here in my town—and, of course, with the community that comes by to ask questions. It was tough at one point, but today we have many tools to create and take our art to the next level.

Agradecer al rincón de las boquillas por el espacio  y mostrar mi trabajo y decir que el graffiti a los que nos dedicamos a esto nos salvó la vida!.
