¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Buscaba algo que me definiera, en los tiempos y zona que empecé eso era lo que rifaba, pero no tenía ningún rasgo físico que acentuar así que decidí irme por una habilidad que siempre he tenido que es la de trepar. Hoy en día escogería mi nombre por letras, dependiendo cuales letras me gusten más para escribir, jugaría con ellas y formaría algo, me parece que “Trepo” no se escribe muy bien.
I was looking for something that defined me, in the times and area that I started that was what I was looking for, but I didn’t have any physical feature to accentuate so I decided to go for a skill that I have always had, which is climbing. Nowadays I would choose my name by letters, depending on which letters I like best to write, I would play with them and form something, it seems to me that “Trepo” is not written very well.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Un cuaderno con un graffiti del hermano mayor de un amigo. Eran unas letras muy sencillas que decían COME por Cometin y una abeja. Me encanto la estética, fui a mi casa y me puse a practicar, fue sumamente difícil encontrar un estilo y después, aprender a usar el aerosol, esa dificultad me motivo mas. Después fui aprendiendo los códigos y costumbres del graffiti, eso me termino por enganchar.
A notebook with graffiti from a friend’s older brother. They were very simple letters that said EAT for Cometin and a bee. I loved the aesthetics, I went home and started practicing, it was extremely difficult to find a style and then, learning to use the spray, that difficulty motivated me even more. Afterwards I started learning the codes and customs of graffiti, that ended up hooking me.

Me parece que la facilidad de divulgación en internet y los espacios que se otorgan hacia el graffiti en paginas como la suya son buena opción para darse a conocer en lugares donde tu estilo por si mismo no ha llegado.
It seems to me that the ease of dissemination on the Internet and the websites given to graffiti on websites like yours are a good option to make yourself known in places where your style by itself has not reached.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Recuerdo la primera “bien hecha” fue en un espacio de graffiti en un hotel, una pieza con letras sencillas que decían TREPO hecha con aerosoles comex. Lograr un trazo limpio y un difuminado bueno fueron el resto de esa pieza hace unos 20 años.
I remember the first “well done” one was in a graffiti place in a hotel, a piece with simple letters that said TREPO made with comex aerosols. Achieving a clean line and a good blend were the rest of that piece about 20 years ago.
