¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar? 

What motivated you to get started painting?

Siempre he dibujado. En 1999 volví a ver a un amigo del colegio que estaba empezando a hacer graffitis. Así que me fui con él a dar una vuelta. Y desde entonces no he parado. Es mi remedio para el dolor de vivir.

I’ve always drawn. I saw a friend from school again in 1999 who was starting graffiti. So I went wandering with him. And I’ve never stopped since. It’s my cure for the pain of living.

 

 

 

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del arte urbano y lo que menos?

What do you like most about street art and what do you like least?

Lo que más me gusta es viajar y conocer gente. Empecé con el vandalismo ilegal. Es lo que más me ha gustado a lo largo de los años. Mis primeros amores. También me gusta visitar lugares abandonados. No me gusta mucho en lo que se ha convertido la cultura del arte callejero. El arte callejero me aburre. Todo encaja. Hay demasiado dinero en esta industria. Los negocios y la pasión no siempre se llevan bien.

What I like the most is traveling and meeting people. I started with illegal vandalism. It’s what I like the most over the years. My very first loves. I also like visiting abandoned places. I don’t really like what street art culture has become. Street art bores me. Everything fits together. Too much money in this industry. Business and passion don’t always mix well.

Do you remember the first piece?

Sí, lo recuerdo. En aquel momento, solo importaba el vándalo. Fue a principios del año 2000 con mi amigo APAD en Longwy, mi ciudad natal.

Siempre me ha gustado pintar.
Llevo 25 años apasionado por ello.
Pinto mucho para mí mismo en mis lugares abandonados.
Es mi oxígeno. Lo necesito para vivir y seguir adelante.

I’ve always loved painting.
I’ve been passionate about it for 25 years.
I paint a lot for myself in my abandoned places.
It’s my oxygen. I need it to live and move forward.
