Wedo Goás
I was always interested in painting. My grandparents always worked in the fields, but when they were older and retired, they started painting. They had always wanted to paint, but at that time, with so many children, it was unthinkable; they had to earn a living. So I grew up watching them paint, and maybe that pushed me to do it too. I always liked to create, in one way or another. My family always supported me, and I think I hit the jackpot in that regard.
Siempre me interesó la pintura, mis abuelos siempre trabajaron el campo, pero cuando ya eran mayores y estaban jubilados empezaron a pintar, ellos siempre habían querido pintar pero en aquella época y con tantos hijos era algo impensable, había que ganarse la vida. Entonces yo crecí viéndolos pintar y quizás eso también me empujó a mí a hacerlo. Siempre me gusto crear, sea de una forma o otra, mi familia siempre me apoyó y creo que en eso me tocó la lotería.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del street art y lo que menos?
What do you like most about street art and what do you like least?
Lo que más me gusta es pintar en la calle y que todo el mundo pueda verlo democratiza el arte, y creo que eso es algo esencial. Lo que menos me gusta quizás sean las rivalidades, aunque es algo que existe en todos los aspectos de la vida.
What I like most is painting in the street so that everyone can see it. It democratizes art, and I think that’s essential. What I like least is perhaps the rivalries, although that’s something that exists in all aspects of life.

Poder compartir mis piezas con gente que le interesa esto siempre es un honor, creo que para todos los creadores el objetivo es compartir lo que hacemos, ya que si nadie lo viese carecería de sentido.
Being able to share my work with people who are interested in it is always an honor. I think that for all creators, the goal is to share what we do, because if no one saw it, it would be meaningless.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Mi primera pieza es complicada de recordar, empezamos de muy pequeños en un pueblo en el que hacerte con spray era complicado. Pero recuerdo una rosa que pinte bajo un puente hace muchísimo tiempo en mi pueblo. Hace poco paseando recordé esa pieza y me metí debajo del puente a ver si aún continuaba allí y para mi sorpresa ahí estaba 20 años después. Recuerdo piezas con mis colegas con 12 años que creo que fueron de los momentos más bonitos de mi vida.
My first piece is difficult to remember. We started when we were very young in a town where it was hard to get hold of spray paint. But I remember a rose that I painted under a bridge a long time ago in my town. Recently, while walking, I remembered that piece and went under the bridge to see if it was still there, and to my surprise, it was still there 20 years later. I remember pieces with my friends when I was 12 years old, which I think were some of the most beautiful moments of my life.

Me gustaría hacer un llamamiento a toda la comunidad de artistas para que pongamos en valor nuestro trabajo, que si no somos nosotros quienes lo hagan nadie lo hará por nosotros.
I would like to call on the entire artistic community to promote our work, because if we don’t do it ourselves, no one else will do it for us.
