Uger

I can’t really remember where my pseudonym came from as it was such a long time ago, I think I was just thinking for some letters that are gonna look good for graffiti, and hence came up with Uger, probably at the age of 13-14.

No recuerdo muy bien de dónde viene mi seudónimo, ya que fue hace mucho tiempo. Creo que solo estaba pensando en unas letras que quedaran bien en un graffiti y se me ocurrió Uger, probablemente cuando tenía 13 o 14 años.

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

En general, me inicié en el graffiti a través de la cultura hip hop, pero creo que incluso de niño ya me gustaba dibujar. Recuerdo que cuando era muy pequeño solía calcar todos mis libros infantiles con papel índigo.

Generally got into graffiti trough the hip hop culture, but I think that even as a kid I was into drawing, I remember being very young and just tracing all my kids books with an indigo paper.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del arte urbano y lo que menos?

What do you like most about street art and what do you like least?

Me gusta que sea una comunidad tan unida, en la que casi todos los mejores writers se conocen y se respetan mutuamente. Lo que no me gusta es justo lo contrario: los aspirantes a gánsteres que no saben dibujar ni una mierda.

Graffiti I like how it’s such a tight knot community, mostly all the better artists know and respect each other. What I don’t like about it is the exact opposite – wannabe gangsters that can’t draw for shit.

Te agradezco que te hayas puesto en contacto conmigo y hayas publicado algunas de mis obras. Aunque últimamente me he centrado más en mi carrera como tatuador, estoy intentando volver al mundo del graffiti, ya que ahora tengo una visión más clara y mejores habilidades para dibujar y expresarme en las paredes.

Grateful to have you reach out to me and publish some of my artworks, although I’ve been more focused on my tattooing career, I’m definitely trying to make a comeback into the graffiti scene, as I feel like I’ve got a better view on it now, and better drawing skills that I can express on the walls.

 

 

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Creo que mi primera obra fue Bob Esponja, con unas latas de mierda que compré en la ferretería. Recuerdo que el amarillo era tan aguado que no cubría nada. Después pasé por mi fase de letras en graffitis, pintando trenes y cosas por el estilo. Ahora intento hacer sobre todo personajes cada vez que mi pandilla me arrastra a las paredes.

I think my first piece was a SpongeBob, with some shitty cans from the hardware store, I remember the yellow being so watery it couldn’t cover at all. After this I went through my lettering phase of graffiti and bombing trains and whatnot. Now I’m trying to do mostly characters whenever my crew manages to drag me out to the walls.

Solo quiero decir que estoy agradecido por lo que el graffiti ha significado para mí en mi vida y por cómo ha evolucionado a lo largo de los años. Además, la escena en Bulgaria ha ido mejorando cada año, respeto a todos los artistas búlgaros que siguen superando los límites. ¡Mucho amor!.

I just want to say I’m grateful for what graffiti started for me in my life, and how it’s evolved over the years. Also the scene in Bulgaria’s been getting better and better every year, respect for all the crazy good Bulgarian artists who keep pushing the limits. Much love!.
