Snoe
I started writing in Snoe in 1991 and the spelling was influenced by Sloe from Bristol after seeing a Get, Ink and Slo wall from Bristol. I also liked the letters and theory of snow covering everything, so there is a concept behind it as well. My old partner and mentor wrote Egoe using the same spelling corruption.
Empecé a escribir en Snoe en 1991 y la ortografía estaba influenciada por Sloe, de Bristol, después de ver un muro con las palabras «Get», «Ink» y «Slo» en Bristol. También me gustaban las letras y la teoría de que la nieve lo cubría todo, así que también hay un concepto detrás. Mi antiguo compañero y mentor escribía Egoe utilizando la misma corrupción ortográfica.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Empecé a pintar en 1986 y me motivó leer un cómic llamado 2000AD en el que aparecía un personaje llamado «Chopper», que escribió su nombre en una versión futurista de Londres convertida en megaciudad. Copié el nombre y escribí «Chopper», y mi hermano escribió «King Zulu the Third». Junto con algunos amigos del colegio que también hacían graffitis. No tenía nada que ver con el hip hop, ya que en aquella época me gustaba el heavy metal, ¡solo se trataba de pintura en spray y vandalismo!.
I started writing in 1986 and was motivated after reading a comic called 2000AD which featured a Character called “Chopper”, who wrote his name on a future mega-city version of London. I copied the name and wrote Chopper and my brother wrote King Zulu the Third!! Along with a few friends from School who also tagged. It had nothing to do with hip hop as I was into heavy metal at the time, it was just about spray paint and vandalism!.

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
La búsqueda y el perfeccionamiento del estilo y la fama mundial. No me gusta que la gente menosprecie el graffiti en las redes sociales como algo desechable y pasajero que la gente pasa por alto para ver un vídeo de gatos.
The pursuit and perfection style and getting your name up in the world. Dislike beef and social media cheapening graffiti as a disposable quick-fix thing that people scroll past to look at a cat video!.

Do you remember the first piece?
Mi primera obra en color la pinté en el Old Zoo HOF de mi ciudad natal, Plymouth, en 1989, junto con mi antiguo compañero Egoe.
No era una gran obra y poco después la repintamos, pero fue genial sentir por primera vez el ambiente veraniego de pintar y pasar el rato con amigos…
My first colour piece was painted on the Old Zoo HOF in my home city of Plymouth in 1989 with my old partner Egoe.
It wasn’t a great piece and we went over it soon afterward, but it was good to feel the summer vibe of painting and hanging out with friends for the first time…
