¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Empecé firmando Okire y después de un tiempo lo recorté a Oki ya que me parecía más cómodo 3 letras, pero después de unos años pintando el terminar las piezas con una “i” me daba muy poco juego y desde entonces añadí un “S” y todo fue mucho mas fácil. De vez en cuando me gusta poner Okiman cuando los espacios son más grandes.
I started tagging Okire and after a while I shorter it to Oki as it seemed more comfortable 3 letters, but after a few years of painting finishing the pieces with an «i» gave me very little play and since then I added an «S» and everything was much easier. From time to time I like to put Okiman when the spaces are bigger.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Desde pequeño me gustaba dibujar y cuando tenía la ocasión de viajar a alguna ciudad, veía graffitis y siempre me llamaba la atención eso de inventarte un nombre y escribirlo por todos lados. En el instituto en 2001 al ver que yo estaba todo el día dibujando letras y monigotes, un compañero un día trajo unas fotocopias en blanco y negro de una revista y me la presto unos dias (sin querer me quedé un par de hojas) y hay ya me motivé después de dibujar muchas letras pero sin tener ni idea de cómo era el mundillo ya que en la zona donde yo vivía en un pueblo a las afueras de Bilbao no había ni una mínima cultura de graffiti ni HipHop.
Since I was a child I liked to draw and when I had the opportunity to travel to a city, I saw graffiti and I was always attracted by the idea of inventing a name and writing it all over the place. In high school in 2001 seeing that I was all day drawing letters and characters, a classmate one day brought some black and white photocopies of a magazine and lent it to me for a few days (unintentionally I kept a couple of sheets) and there I was motivated after drawing many letters but without having any idea of how the world was because in the area where I lived in a town on the outskirts of Bilbao there was not even a minimal culture of graffiti or HipHop.
¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
La verdad que ni lo sé, nunca he querido tener un estilo específico, he puesto mi nombre siempre intentando que no me afecten demasiado las tendencias del momento y a lo largo del tiempo si me ha apetecido hacer las piezas más simples, meter flechas, palos o muñecos los he hecho sin problema alguno.
The truth is that I don’t even know, I have never wanted to have a specific style, I have always put my name trying not to be affected too much by the trends of the moment and over time if I have felt like making the simplest pieces, put arrows, sticks or characters I have done them without any problem.

Me parece perfecto que se interesen por mi y dar visibilidad a escritores de tantos sitios, actualmente vivo en una isla pequeña en el Atlántico que el 99% del graffiti que se ve es mío, con lo cual me parece muy bien darse a conocer por aquí , ya que es complicado que alguien venga aquí a ver mis piezas.
I think it’s perfect that they are interested in me and give visibility to writers from so many places, I currently live on a small island in the Atlantic that 99% of the graffiti you see is mine, so I think it’s great to be known here, since it is difficult for someone to come here to see my pieces.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Recuerdo de ir con una colega que ponía Drop y con apenas dos latas de pintura de ferretería a una antigua estación y pintar en una puerta que todavía se conserva. El resultado no fue como yo quería así que seguí boceteando.
I remember going with a friend who painted like Drop and with just two cans of hardware store paint to an old station and paint on a door that is still preserved. The result was not as I wanted so I kept sketching.

What is your crew?
En 2009 yo y mis amigos fundamos GBS y en 2018 surgió TGF, siempre es un gustazo representar a gente con la misma actitud en el Graffiti.
In 2009 me and my friends founded GBS and in 2018 TGF emerged, it’s always a joy to represent people with the same attitude in Graffiti.
