¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi tag proviene básicamente de mi nombre, Michael. No hay ninguna historia loca detrás de mi firma, pero tiendo a escribir un montón de palabras al azar. Extra, Blanco, Klepto, cualquier palabra que tenga un grupo interesante de letras me hace feliz tratar de escribirla. Tiendo a atascarme con las palabras si digo la misma durante mucho tiempo, así que es un truco fácil para mí para desafiarme a mí mismo y progresar cambiando mis palabras mucho.
My pseudonym basically comes from my name, Michael. No crazy story to it but i do tend to write a lot of random words. Extra,Blanco, Klepto any word that has a interesting group of letters ill be happy trying to writing. I tend to get stuck with words if i say with the same one for too long, so its a easy trick for me to challenge myself and progress by switching up my words a lot.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Cuando empecé a escribir era más bien algo social. Poco a poco empiezas a bombardear y a firmar y a conocer a más y más gente que escribe y con ello empiezas a salir de fiesta y a bombardear, especialmente cuando eres un adolescente. Pero con el paso del tiempo empecé a tomármelo más en serio y a esforzarme mucho más en mi estilo y, en general, a intentar sacar un trabajo de calidad.
When i first started writing it was more of a social thing. You slowly start bombing and tagging and meeting more and more people who write and with that you start partying and bombing especially when you are a teenager. But as time went on i slowly started to take it more seriously and putting a lot more effort into my style and generally trying to put high quality work out. its still a work in progress.

What is your style?
Supongo que describiría mi estilo como clásico o tradicional, sea cual sea su significado. Es un estilo muy centrado en las letras con un mínimo de extras, todo negocio sin trucos. Siempre me he decantado por un estilo más sencillo, hay algo en el estilo simple que me atrae. Veo demasiados graffitis con estilo wild con innumerables extensiones y conexiones, con 30 colores en ellos y realmente tengo que mirar mucho para entender qué coño está pasando y apenas puedo distinguir las letras. Me siento allí preguntando qué es lo que este tipo trata de ocultar con toda esta mierda extra. Es como tener una porción de un pastel muy sabroso con demasiado hielo y sólo para tomar un bocado de el. … la base no estaba allí por lo que las movidas extras no te van a ayudar.
I guess i would describe my style as classic or traditional what ever that means. Its a very letter focused style with minimal extras, all business no gimmicks. Ive always steered towards a simpler style, theres just something about a really styling simple that really speaks to me. I see too much wild style graffiti with countless extension and connections, with 30 colors in it and i really gotta look hard to figure out what the fucks going on and can barely make out the letters. I just sit there wondering whats this guy trying to hide with all this extra bullshit. Its like having a slice of a really fancy cake with too much icying and extra only to take a bite outta it and its dry as fuck…the foundation wasnt there so the extras aint gonna help.

En cuanto al graffiti en Internet, creo que es una nueva vía o entorno para su existencia. Empecé a hacer graffiti cuando Internet era muy nuevo, así que pude experimentar su explosión en Internet, donde antes sólo podías ver cosas locales en tu región o, si tenías suerte, algunas revistas en las que podías ver cosas de todo el mundo. Al fin y al cabo, se trata de levantarse y ser visto, así que es una buena manera de ser visto en diferentes partes del mundo.
As far of graffiti going on the internet, i feel like its just a new avenue or environment for it to exist in. I started doing graffiti when the internet was very new so i got to experience it exploding on the internet where before you could only see local stuff in your region or if your were lucky you had some magazines you can see stuff from around the world. At the end of the day its all about get up and getting seen, so its a pretty good way to be seen by different parts of the world.

Do you remember the first piece?
La primera pieza que hice fue bastante mala, incluso para ser mala fue extra mala. Literalmente no tenía ni idea de lo que estaba haciendo. Recuerdo que entré en pánico porque un coche pasó por el lugar que estaba pintando por la noche. Así que obviamente corrí como un ratón asustado, pero volví y terminé. De vez en cuando miro el vídeo y me río. Aquellos primeros años fueron muy buenos, tan emocionantes y nuevos, una sensación tan cruda y real que al intentar entrar en una cultura y una escena de la que sabías muy poco era emocionante. Como si estuvieras explorando una misteriosa leyenda o algo así. Te entusiasmaba lo que iba a suceder, pero no tenías ni idea de lo que había a la vuelta de la esquina.
My first piece i ever did was pretty bad, even for bad its was extra bad. I literally had no idea was i was doing. I remember panicking because some car happen to drive by the spot i was painting at night. So obviously i ran like a spooked mouse but came back and finished. Ill look at the flick of it from time to time and have a good laugh. Those early years were great times, so exciting and new , such a raw feeling trying to break into a culture and scene you knew very little about. Like you were exploring some mysterious legend or something. You were excited for what was next but had no idea was was around the corner.

Yo represento a KPS crew y GH crew, pero hay muchas movidas guapas en Toronto de muchos escritores con talento. BASTARDS crew, VC crew, DOH crew, LSD crew, UNC crew, BFD crew y muchos más que no puedo recordar en este momento. Búscalos y flipalo.
