¿Por qué haces caricaturas?
Why are you doing caricatures?
Es mi medio de vida, aparte de que siempre me ha gustado hacerlas.
It is my way of life, apart from that I have always liked to do caricatures.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un artista?
What motivated you to get started being an artist
Ser artista me llena en todos los campos, es un trabajo muy agradecido y a veces permite vivir de ello. Es duro y maravilloso a la vez.
Being an artist it is great for me in everything in my life, it is a very grateful work and sometimes let me to live doing it. It is hard and wonderful at the same time.
¿Qué tratas de decir con tus caricaturas?
What do you try to say with your caricatures?
Intento provocar la risa, es así de simple,. Una caricatura que no te saque al menos una sonrisa, no es una caricatura. No deja de ser un arte ,que tiene unas normas de deformación que deben cumplirse, y creo que es casi más arte que el retrato, ya que la caricatura no permite, como en el retrato, usar medios de copia de fotografías como cuadriculas, proyectores, etc, . Es el artista contra el papel creando algo nuevo pero que se parezca a la persona que estás dibujando.
I try to get to be funny with my work, it’s that simple. A cartoon that does not get you at least a smile, it isn’t a caricature. It is still an art, which has deformation rules that must be fulfilled, and I think it is almost more art than the portrait, because the caricature doesn’t let you, like a portrait, to use means of copying photographs like squares, projectors , etc, . It is the artist against the paper creating something new but you must draw the person you are drawing.

What do you think when you are doing caricatures?
Caigo en una especie de trance en la que no estoy pendiente de lo que pasa a mi alrededor, solo existo yo, el modelo y el dibujo.
I fall into a kind of trance in which I am not aware of what is happening around me, there is only me, the model and the drawing.
¿Nos podrías contar como es un día normal durante tu semana?
Would you mind telling us how is your normal day during the week?
Pues mi vida es un poco más libre que la de el resto de las personas, mi horario es más flexible, ya que puedo dibujar a cualquier hora del dia, mientras cumpla con los plazos de entrega. Lo malo es que trabajo en muchas fiestas de fin de semana y me quita algo de tiempo de disfrutar de mi familia.
Well, my life is a little freer than other people, my timetable is more flexible, since I can draw at any time of day, as long as I get the deadlines. The bad thing is that I work at many weekend parties and it takes some time to enjoy my family.

¿Cuántas caricaturas has hecho?
How many caricatures have you done?
Incalculable, en estudio unos cientos, pero en vivo ya son miles, en cada sesión en directo hago una media de 50, asi que cada año quizás haga unas 2000.
I can’t list, In my studio i did hundreds, but in live sessions i have done are thousands, in each live session I draw an average of 50 caricatures, so each year maybe make about 2000.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta de las caricaturas que te mantiene haciendolo?
What do you like the most about caricature art that keeps you doing it?
Me gustaría alcanzar el nivel de Sebastian Kruger, tanto en caricatura como en retrato pero eso sería si pudiese practicar durante 10 vidas.
I would like to get the level of Sebastian Kruger, in caricature and portrait but that would be if I could practice for 10 lives.
¿Cuáles son tus artistas favoritos?
What are your favorite artists?
Muchisimos, en caricatura tengo varios favoritos, Thierry coquelet, Sebastian Kruger, Ernesto Priego, Aldeguer, Nate Kap, Robolus, etc. Todos son caricaturistas pero con estilos muy distintos.
Many, in caricature I have several favorites, Thierry coquelet, Sebastian Kruger, Ernesto Priego, Aldeguer, Nate Kap, Robolus, etc. All are caricaturists but with very different styles.
¿Cuál es tu trabajo real?
What is your real job?
Mi trabajo principales ser caricaturista, mi actividad con la que me gano la vida y pago impuestos es la de artista gráfico. Dentro de mi actividad como artista hago varias cosas, imparto cursos de dibujo, hago vídeos visual thinking (Esos en los que sale una mano dibujando), hago encargos de dibujo y caricatura para particulares y empresas. Lo que aun no hago es tatuar pero todo es ponerse. Hay que ser polivalente para poder sobrevivir como artista.
My main job being caricaturist, my activity with which I get money for living and paying taxes is the graphic artist. Within my activity as an artist I do several things, I teach drawing courses, I make visual thinking videos, I do drawing and caricature assignments for individuals and companies. What I still don’t do is tattoo but everything is put on. You have to be versatile in order to survive as an artist.
