¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Mi seudónimo surgió de la idea de tener una palabra que conoces pero escrita de forma diferente. Así que es la ciudad de Marsella, en Francia, pero escrita de forma diferente: Masei. En realidad es mi apodo y lo uso desde 2005.

My pseudonym arose from the idea of having a word that you know but written differently. So it’s the city of Marseille from France but just written differently-Masei. It’s actually my nickname and it’s been since 2005.

 

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

De niño veía los graffitis en las autopistas y me fascinaban. Luego, a los 11 años, tuve en mis manos mi primera revista de hip hop, donde había fotos de graffitis, y entonces quise entenderlos y también poder pintar mi nombre.

As a child I saw the graffiti on the highways and was fascinated. Then at the age of 11 I had my first hip hop magazine in my hand where there were photos of graffiti and then I wanted to understand it and also be able to paint my name.

 

 

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?

Lo que más me gusta es que hay tantas posibilidades. Que siempre puedes encontrar nuevos métodos para cambiar las letras y hacer que interactúen entre sí. Y conoces a mucha gente interesante y siempre te lo pasas genial en las jam sessions.

Lo que menos me gusta son los precios de todo. Por lo demás, no se me ocurre nada que no me guste.

What I love most is that there are so many possibilities. That you can always find new methods to change the letters and let them act with each other. And you get to know so many cool people and always have a great time on jams.

What I like the least are the prices for everything. Otherwise, I can’t think of anything I don’t like.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com«?

Para mí es un honor publicar aquí. Es una forma de reconocimiento a mi trabajo y mi pasión. Es una especie de hito y estoy muy contento.

To be published here is an honour for me. It is a form of recognition for my work and passion. It’s kind of a milestone and I’m really happy.

 

 

 

 

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Mi primera obra fue una divertida acción con un amigo. Robamos unas latas a su hermano mayor y fuimos a un edificio que más tarde fue demolido. Nunca lo vi durante el día, pero toda la acción fue divertida.

My first piece was a fun action with a buddy. We stole a few cans from his big brother and went to a building that was later demolished. I never saw it during the day but the whole action was fun.

 

 

Y para terminar ¿algo que quieras decir?

And finally, anything you want to say?

Trabajemos juntos en lugar de competir entre nosotros. Todos compartimos la misma pasión y juntos podemos crear cosas maravillosas. Disfruta de un momento lleno de color y quizá nos veamos y pintemos una pared juntos.

Let’s all work together more than against each other. We all have the same passion and together we can create such beautiful things. Have a colourful time and maybe we’ll see each other and paint a wall together.
