From a very young age, I was influenced by the so-called flecheros (arrow artists) and started tagging my name, but in the mid-1990s, I began hanging out with the older rappers in my neighborhood, and that’s when I started to take graffiti more seriously. In 1995, I did my first piece.
Desde muy pequeño iba echando firmas influenciado por los denominados flecheros, pero ya a mediados de los años noventa empecé a juntarme con los raperos mayores de mi barrio y fue cuando comencé a tomarme más en serio esto del graffiti, en el año 1995 hice mi primera pieza.

Where does your pseudonym come from?
La firma original era Kare, que realmente pertenecía al Dadi de ASN CREW (actualmente Sonido Klandestino) me la dieron él y Agus One.
The original tag was Kare, which actually belonged to Dadi from ASN CREW (now Sonido Klandestino). He and Agus One gave it to me.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Lo que más me gusta del graffiti es vivir el momento, los lugares y la gente a la que se conoce, el reconocimiento de la gente y sobre todo las anécdotas. Lo que menos me gusta del graffiti, son las fatigas que se pasan a veces, los marrones chungos y los abusos de la policía. Pero si hay algo que no me gusta absolutamente del graffiti a día de hoy y que quiero que quede muy claro, son los pseudografiteros que están apareciendo ahora y que están ensuciando esta cultura con mensajes modernos y basura liberal capitalista, haciendo piezas a Vito Quiles y otro tipo de mamonadas…El graffiti es un medio de expresión artístico antisistema y lo más triste que hay es hacerle el juego al sistema con ese tipo de mensajes.
What I like most about graffiti is living in the moment, the places and the people you meet, the recognition from people, and above all, the stories. What I like least about graffiti is the hard work that sometimes goes into it, the tough situations, and police abuse. But if there’s one thing I absolutely dislike about graffiti today, and I want to make this very clear, it’s the pseudo-graffiti writers who are appearing now and polluting this culture with modern messages and liberal capitalist garbage, doing pieces like Vito Quiles and other types of bullshit… Graffiti is a means of anti-establishment artistic expression, and the saddest thing is to play into the system’s hands with that kind of message.

Si, perfectamente, fue en 1995 en el callejón de los ASN CREW. De hecho, en mi libro «La vida de un artista Karen» uno de los primeros capítulos, se llama «Mi primera pieza» y además de la foto, cuento como la hice y quien me ayudó a hacerla.
