¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Me llamo Hitch, por la película «HITCH», protagonizada por Will Smith. Bueno, yo era joven entonces.

I go by the name of Hitch, taken from the movie “HITCH” in which Will Smith starred. Well, I was young back then.

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Eso es un cliché. Me sentía natural y fiel a mí mismo cuando dibujaba desde niño.

That’s so cliche. I just felt natural and true to myself when I was drawing since childhood.

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

Soy un artista autodidacta a tiempo completo afincado en Japón.
Además de mi trabajo en solitario, llevo más de 15 años trabajando con otro artista japonés, simo, en un dúo de pintura llamado WHOLE9. El tema constante es representar la «luz» con belleza. Me encanta pintar retratos, animales y plantas bajo una hermosa fuente de luz. Con eso, me siento muy feliz si los espectadores reflejan sus sentimientos en mi pintura.

I’m a full time self-taught artist based in Japan.
And I also have been working over 15 years with another Japanese artist, simo, as a painting duo named WHOLE9, in addition to my solo work. The consistent theme is depicting “light” beautifully. I love painting portraits, animals, and plants under a beautiful light source. With that, I’m very happy if the viewers reflect their feelings on my painting.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com»?

Eso es lo mejor del arte. Podemos comunicarnos e inspirarnos unos a otros visualmente más allá del lenguaje. También estoy muy contento porque me interesa mucho la cultura mural de España y otros países de Europa.

That’s the best part of art. We can communicate and inspire each other visually beyond language.
I am also very happy because I have a strong interest in the mural culture of Spain and other countries in Europe.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

No me acuerdo. Pero seguro que entonces era un adolescente. Tuve sesiones y charlas con muchos pintores. Recientemente, he estado trabajando en un proyecto para pintar versiones locales del mismo viejo cuento con las mismas raíces que se ha extendido por todo el mundo. Se llama HAGOROMO MURALS. Creo que en Europa el cuento se conoce como La doncella del cisne.

I don’t remember. But I sure was an adolescent back then. I had sessions and talks with many painters. Recently, I’ve been working on a project to paint local versions of the same old tale with the same roots that have spread around the world. It’s named HAGOROMO MURALS. I think the story is known as Swan Maiden in Europe.

Voy a ir a Europa por primera vez en 2025. Tengo muchas ganas de pintar y divertirme allí.
