¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Cuando era joven pintaba graffiti, en los 90 mi tag era Onik y mi crew era DNA. Me gusto Onik, me encantaban las letras y durante 10 años hice graffiti sobre toda Italia. Viene mi tag de los escritores de la escena underground. Hoy no utilizo ese tag simplemente uso mi nombre real.
When I was young I did graffiti, in the 90s my tag was Onik and my crew was DNA. I liked Onik, I loved joining letters and for ten years I did graffiti around Italy. I come from the underground writers scene. Today I no longer use this pseudonym, I simply use my real name.

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Comencé a pintar con spray cuando tenia 14 años, fue en 1994 y pasaba el tiempo jugando al fútbol con algunos colegas, vi a un chico pintando un muro, una manera diferente de expresarse a uno mismo y en ese momento entendí que el muro era mi cuadro… hoy todavía sigue ese sentimiento vivo.
I started painting with the spray when I was fourteen yeas old, it was in 1994 and I went to play football with some friends, I saw a boy painting on a wall, with a spray, a different way to express himself, and In that moment I understood that the wall was my only canvas… today, I’m still active.

¿Cuál es tu estilo?
What is your style?
Mis obras nacen de la cultura minimalista, donde las formas representan la idea principal. Intento transmitir un poco de calma y hacer reflexionar al público sobre nuevas formas que generen nuevas fantasías. Cada uno puede ver lo que quiera en mis obras, puede ver todo o nada. Mi trabajo deja abierta la investigación. Para esto, sigo eligiendo el Arte Urbano porque es el enfoque artístico más democrático que conozco. Actualmente estoy realizando una nueva producción dedicada a las postales urbanas. Siempre combino elementos abstractos con elementos botánicos, visiones de ciudades abstractas y visiones naturales más figurativas
My works is born from minimal culture, where shapes represent the main idea. I try to convey a bit of calm and make the audience reflect on new forms that generate new fantasies. Everyone can see what they want in my works, they can see everything or nothing. My work leaves research open. For this, I continue to choose the Urban Art because it’s is the more democratic artist approach that I know. At the moment I’m making a new production dedicated to urban postcards. I always combine abstract elements with botanical elements, visions of abstract cities and more figurative natural visions.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com»?
Me gusta mucho porque me hace sentir joven otra vez con el spray en la mano. Estoy orgulloso de que mi trabajo sea publicado porque mi camino parte del graffiti y llega al arte callejero. Soy de la opinión que esto es un valor añadido. Hoy en día muchos improvisan en la calle sólo por moda. Así que gracias por pedirme esta entrevista.
I really like it because it makes me feel young again with the spray can in my hand.
I am proud that my work is published because my path starts from graffiti and reaches street art. I am of the opinion that this is an added value. Today many improvise on the street just for fashion. So thank you for asking me for this interview.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Eso sí, era el año 1994, durante un festival de música en mi ciudad. Aproveché que estaban todos en la plaza para ir por la tarde a hacer mi primer títere. La pieza fue realizada en el puerto de mi ciudad, en un antiguo galpón y allí permaneció hasta hace poco. Todavía tengo algunas fotos históricas. La pieza era ilegal. Las proporciones no eran bonitas, no me gustaban los colores pero nunca cambiaría la sensación que tenía en ese momento.
Of course, it was 1994, during a music festival in my city. I took advantage of everyone being in the square to go in the evening to make my first puppet. The piece was made at the port of my city, on an old shed and remained there until recently. I still have some historical photos. The piece was illegal. The proportions weren’t nice, I didn’t like the colors but I would never change the feeling I had in that moment.
