¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
De pequeño en la búsqueda de darle un nombre al interés de hacer letras y viendo graffitis por la ciudad llegué al apodo GEAS. Me gustó y se quedó hasta el día de hoy.
As a child, searching for a name for my interest in lettering and seeing graffiti around the city, I came up with the nickname GEAS. I liked it, and it stuck to this day.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Mi hermano era rapero y él me inculcó el hip-hop. Desde niño siempre vi como hacían tags y empecé a fijarme en los graffitis que veía por la calle en todos lados. A los 12 años aproximadamente comencé a hacer diseños en mis cuadernos, diseños que les mostraba a mis amigos y familiares los que me motivaron a seguir dibujando hasta el día que pude pintar mi primer graffiti en un muro a los 15 años.
My brother was a rapper, and he introduced me to hip-hop. Since I was a kid, I always watched people tagging, and I started noticing the graffiti I saw everywhere on the street. When I was around 12, I started making designs in my notebooks, showing them to my friends and family. These designs motivated me to keep drawing until the day I painted my first graffiti on a wall at 15 years old.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Lo que más me gusta del graffiti es tener la capacidad de aprender siempre. Ya sea mi propia experiencia o absorber y compartir la experiencia de los demás escritores. Para mí, lo mejor del graffiti es su comunidad. De todos los escritores se puede aprender algo y poder compartir con ellos algo de lo yo también sé es algo muy gratificante. Lo que no me gusta es la rivalidad que siempre ha tenido el entorno en contra de darle color y vida a la ciudad.
What I like most about graffiti is the ability to always learn. Whether it’s my own experience or absorbing and sharing the experiences of other writers. For me, the best thing about graffiti is its community. You can learn something from all the writers, and being able to share with them what I know is very rewarding. What I don’t like is the rivalry that the community has always had against bringing color and life to the city.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
La primera pieza fue en el muro de un vecino en el año 2003. Le gustó el diseño que le mostré y me dejó pintar su muralla. Hasta esta fecha ya había pasado mucho tiempo haciendo tags y rayando todo lo que había a mi alrededor. Pero fue este mi primer muro con un graffiti como tal. Fue una de las mejores experiencias que he vivido y ahí supe que quería hacer esto por el resto de mi vida o lo que más pueda. Fue el inicio de este hermoso camino.
The first piece was on a neighbor’s wall in 2003. He liked the design I showed him and let me paint it. Up until this point, I’d spent a lot of time tagging and scratching everything around me. But this was my first wall with proper graffiti. It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, and I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life, or as long as I could. It was the beginning of this beautiful journey.

Espero poder hacer esto por mucho tiempo más y espero que las generaciones actuales y futuras mantengan vivo este hermoso rubro. Que muchos más se atrevan a salir y rayar o pintar lo que sientan o lo que quieran en verdad. No importa lo que diga la gente, esto es por y para nosotros mismos. Muchas gracias
