¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Frase surge en los 90 en la época del tag y los estilos enredados de Guadalajara, esto por el estilo de las letras que se prestaban para estilearse de forma muy fluida de chico a grande y los fleres quedaban muy reventados, así adopté este tag para después convertirse en mi nombre artístico con el que ya se me reconoce en el medio.

Frase emerged in the 90s during the era of tag and the tangled styles of Guadalajara, due to the style of the letters that lent themselves to being styled in a very fluid way from small to large and the fleurs were very bursting, so I adopted this tag that later became my artistic name with which I am already recognized in the media.

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

En los 90 aquí en Guadalajara era muy popular los tags, me motivo ver tantos escritores en las calles y avenidas, aun cuando no sabíamos quienes éramos, pero ese anonimato era lo que te motivaba era el escribir tu nombre en todos lados, la adrenalina de caminar de noche o madrugada pintando o estar en el día dandole sin miedo al que te atraparan.

In the 90s, tags were very popular here in Guadalajara. I was motivated by seeing so many writers on the streets and avenues, even though we didn’t know who we were. That anonymity was what motivated you. It was writing your name everywhere, the adrenaline of walking around at night or early in the morning painting, or spending the day doing it without fear of being caught.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?

El graffiti me ha dado muchos buenos momentos, he visitado muchos lugares, conocido personas y escritores que siempre me han abierto las puertas de su casa, compartiendo un muro, su cultura, e infinidad de experiencias, me encanta ese carnalismo que existe entre la banda.
Lo que ya casi no me gusta seria que ya no es como antes, se ha perdido mucho el respeto por los trabajos mas elaborados, pues han surgido nuevas ideologías de los escritores mas jóvenes, pero entiendo que son otra generación con otra perspectiva de las cosas, para ellos ya un renombre de algún escritor mas antiguo ya no vale, al menos eso pasa en mi ciudad y eso ha generado algunos desacuerdos y riñas, pero nada que no se pueda arreglar pintando en la calle.

Graffiti has given me many good times. I’ve visited many places, met people and writers who have always opened their doors to me, sharing a wall, their culture, and countless experiences. I love the carnal spirit that exists within the gang.
What I almost dislike now is that it’s not what it used to be. Much respect for more elaborate works has been lost, as new ideologies have emerged from younger writers. But I understand they’re a different generation with a different perspective on things. For them, the renown of an older writer no longer counts. At least that’s what happens in my city. This has generated some disagreements and arguments, but nothing that can’t be fixed by painting in the street.

Lo veo como una buena oportunidad,para dar a conocer mi opinion sobre el tema y así poder compartir un poco de mis experiencias.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Si, después de varios años haciendo solo tags, conocí a algunos camaradas que hacían ya sus primeras piezas en wild style y 3d y me dije yo también soy capaz de hacerlo así que comencé a dibujar y a pintar sobre el muro mis bocetos, no tenia control del spray así que usaba carton, para definir las lineas rectas y no brisear los colores, usaba válvulas de desodorantes que robaba en los supermercados, hacia injertos de agujas en las válvulas para conseguir lineas mas delgadas, pues no teníamos boquillas como las que ahora existen, fue una etapa que me sirvió mucho para crecer pues esas dificultades, me hicieron querer aprender mas y mejorar constantemente, la primera vez que use válvulas punto verde española, fue como wooooaaw poder hacer lineas sin tanto rollo y lograr efectos que con el carton no se podia, fue algo inolvidable, para darle paso después al mixer, aprender a mezclar tonos, fue lo que evoluciono todo, pues no teníamos mas que aerosoles de ferretería, no existían marcas de aerosoles como las de hoy en día especiales para hacer graffiti y mucho menos una gama de colores, por eso estoy super agradecido haber podido vivir esa etapa del graffiti y ser parte de esa historia.

Yes, after several years of just making tags, I met some friends who were already making their first pieces in wild style and 3d and I said to myself that I was also capable of doing it, so I started drawing and painting my sketches on the wall. I had no control over the spray so I used cardboard to define the straight lines and not to blur the colors. I used deodorant spray cap that I stole from supermarkets. I inserted needles into the caps to get thinner lines because we didn’t have nozzles like the ones we have now. It was a stage that helped me grow a lot because those difficulties made me want to learn more and improve constantly. The first time I used Spanish green dot valves, it was like wooooaaw being able to make lines without so much fuss and achieve effects that couldn’t be done with cardboard. It was unforgettable. Later, I used to use the mixer to learn how to mix tones. That’s what evolved everything. We only had spray cans from hardware stores. There were no brands of spray cans like today that were special for graffiti and much more. except for a range of colors, that’s why I’m super grateful to have been able to live through that stage of graffiti and be part of that history.
