¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Hice mucho bombing callejero con mis dibujos animados, estos eran del estilo pompa. Después de un tiempo, el periódico escribió un artículo sobre estas caricaturas. Nunca les di un nombre. Por eso el periódico los llamó pequeños Pea-heads. (el guisante se llama Erwtje en holandés)
Después de ese artículo, mis amigos se burlaban de mí y me llamaban pea (erwtje), me parecía despectivo, así que pensé que simplemente lo poseía. Como un juego.
I did a lot of street bombing with my cartoons, These where like throwup style. After a while the newspaper wrote an article about these cartoons. I never gave them a name. So the newspaper called them little Pea-heads. (the vegetable pea is called Erwtje in dutch)
After that article, my friends where teasing and calling me pea (erwtje) it felt disparaging, so i thought i just own it. As a gimick.

What motivated you to get started painting?
Empecé a hacer graffiti a los 11 años. Después de que mi hermano mayor me presentara esta movida. En aquel entonces simplemente me gustaba crear letras en blackbooks, tenía la fantasía libre y agregue 3D ya que lo sentía como magia.
Por supuesto, comencé desde poco, lo siguiente fueron las firmas del barrio. Y luego las cosas más importantes.
Hice muchos graffitis con letras tradicionales, pero de alguna manera siempre intentaba poner una caricatura al lado. Supongo que me convertí en el tipo de dibujos animados de mi crew en aquel entonces. Después de que me arrestaran y delataran varias veces y 2 años después de un caso judicial, comencé a bombardear las calles solo con mi caricatura básica. Las letras son problemáticas, los dibujos animados son comprensibles y tienen emociones.
I started doing graffiti on the age of 11. After my older brother introduced me. I just liked to create letters in blackbooks back then, i had the most free fantasy and adding 3d felt like magic.
Of course it starts of small, next was neighbourhood tagging,. And later on the bigger stuff.
I did a lot of traditional letter graffiti, but somehow i always tried to put a cartoon next to it. I guess i became the cartoon guy in my crew back in the days. After i got busted and snitched a few times and 2 years of court case later i started street bombing with only my basic cartoon. Letters are trouble, cartoons are understandable and have emotions.

What is your style?
No sé qué tipo de estilo tengo.
Sólo hago lo que me gusta. Hoy en día ya no hago graffitis ilegales. Hago murales legales en festivales y pinto lienzos y paneles de madera. Me gusta poner la atmósfera de las acciones del graffiti en mis pinturas.
Utilizo mis propios recuerdos y personajes en estas pinturas para imitar situaciones reales en mi propio estilo. Las pinturas parecen pintadas casi clásicas, pero el tema es moderno.
I don’t know what kind of style i have.
I just do what i like. These days i don’t do illegal graffiti anymore. I do legal murals on festivals, and i paint canvas and wooden panels. I like to put the atmosphere from graffiti actions in my paintings.
I use my own memories and characters in these paintings to imitate real situations in my own style. The paintings look almost classic painted, but the subject is modern.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Creo que tenía unos 13 o 14 años. En 1996 o 1997 estaba detrás de un muro al lado de la carretera.
Mi hermano hizo una pieza grande y me dormí después de hacerla esperando a mi hermano.
Recuerdo que realmente pensaba que el graffiti era mágico, dibujar graffitis en papel y también en la pared. Crear graffiti era una gran adicción.
Ahora soy mayor y el graffiti está en todas partes, y no es necesario salir de casa para ver las piezas más nuevas. De hecho, todo lo relacionado con el hecho me parece más interesante.
Toda la misión, la hermandad, el control, la postura, el sigilo. Las fiestas previas y el esfuerzo son más memorables que la “obra de arte” en sí.
I think i was around 13 or 14 years old. In 1996 or 1997 it was on the back of wall next to the highway.
My brother did a big piece, and i slept after i did the piece waiting for my brother.
I remember i really thought graffiti was magical, drawing graffiti on paper, as wel as on the wall. Creating graffiti was such a big addiction.
Now im older and graffiti is everywhere, and you dont need to get out of the house to see the newest piece’s i actually find everything around the deed more interesting.
The whole mission, the brother hood, the checking, the posture, the sneaking,. The pre partys, and the effort is more memorable then the “artwork” it self.

Me mudaré a españa en marzo,
Mi esposa, mis hijos y yo viviremos allí sin conexión a la red. Espero llevar mi arte a un nivel superior en este nuevo capítulo.
I will move to spain in March,
Me, my wife and kids will live offgrid there. I hope to bring my art to a higher level in this new chapter
