¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi apodo, Inok, es una transformación de las letras de mi nombre de pila, Nico. Lo pinté tal cual durante años, y luego le añadí un toque «americano» cambiando la i por ea. Desde entonces, sigo haciendo algunos cambios para darme nuevas opciones en el diseño de las letras. También pinto letras Bleon en referencia a mi hijo, Big Léon.
My nickname, Inok, is a transformation of the letters in my first name, Nico. I painted it as is for years, then added an «American» touch by changing the i to ea. Since then, I still make a few changes to give myself new options in the letter design. I also paint Bleon letters in reference to my son, Big Léon.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Como a finales de los 90 era un adolescente rebelde que quería formar parte del movimiento Hip Hop, me había roto la espalda intentando bailar Break Dancing y siempre me ha gustado dibujar, el graffiti estaba hecho para mí.
Since in the late 90s I was a rebellious teenager who wanted to be part of the Hip Hop movement, I had broken my back trying Break Dancing and I always loved drawing, graffiti was meant for me.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Hay muchas cosas que me gustan del graffiti. Poder despejarme pintando, la oportunidad de renovarme artísticamente, la satisfacción de crear algo, aunque sea efímero. Las amistades que perduran a pesar de la distancia y los años. La adrenalina de la acción, los recuerdos…
Lo menos divertido es la mierda que se respira, la policía que nos molesta, los soplones, los dedos congelados y esta bomba que bloquea.
There are many things I enjoy about graffiti. Being able to clear my head by painting, the opportunity to renew myself artistically, the satisfaction of creating something, even if it’s ephemeral. The friendships that last despite the distance and the years. The adrenaline rush of action, the memories…
The less fun part is the shit we breathe, the police who bother us, the snitches, the frozen fingers and this bomb that is blocked.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Fue una vergüenza total. Por aquel entonces no tenía ni idea de nada. Se nos ocurrió un nombre de crew completamente pretencioso para los toyacos que éramos, y esbocé las tres letras de la cuadrilla en el orden equivocado.
Como nos gustó el boceto, cambiamos el nombre de la crew y nos fuimos a pintar nuestras porquerías al parque infantil local.
It was a total shame. I had no idea about anything at the time. We came up with a completely pretentious crew name for the toys we were, and I sketched the three letters of the crew in the wrong order.
Since we liked the sketch, we changed the crew name and went to paint our crap in the local playground.
