¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Cursaba la secundaria cuando empece a pintar graffiti, en aquel tiempo empece intentando con varios nombres, pero al final busque un nombre practico y que fuera solido, 3 letras. “dux”. Un día por casualidad encontré que la palabra “dux” que en latin, significa “guía” desde entonces el nombre ha tomado un sentido diferente y especial para mi.

I was in high school when I started painting graffiti, at that time I started trying with several names, but in the end I looked for a practical and solid name, 3 letters. «dux». One day by chance I found the word «dux» which in latin, means «guide» since then the name has taken a different and special meaning for me.

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Desde pequeño me gusto pintar, dibujar, siempre fui una persona muy sensible a las artes, un día cuando estaba en la escuela, yo era muy chico aun, un amigo me mostró una pieza 3d que había hecho con lápices de colores, quede impactado, desde ese momento entro en mi mente, yo quería hacer eso, experimentarlo, había encontrado la manera de canalizar lo que yo quería pintar, aunque no supiera nada del tema, ya cuando entre a la secundaria conocí a varios graffiteros de la zona que fue en donde me inicie en esto que llevo haciendo hasta hoy en día.

Since I was a child I liked painting, drawing, I was always a very sensitive person to the arts, one day when I was in school, I was still very young, a friend showed me a 3d piece he had made with colored pencils, I was shocked, from that moment entered my mind, I wanted to do that, experience it, I had found a way to channel what I wanted to paint, although I knew nothing about the subject, and when I entered high school I met several graffiti artists in the area that was where I started in this that I have been doing until today.

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

No se si podría definir un estilo tal cual, al pintar soy algo multifacético, pero creo se centra en el carácter, cartoon y el surrealismo.

I don’t know if I could define a style as such, as I am a multifaceted painter, but I think it focuses on character, cartoon and surrealism.

Es muy bueno, creo es una buena forma de conectarnos con otras personas que se dedican a esto y sobre todo seguir aprendiendo de los demás, ver que es lo que se esta haciendo en el mundo es importante, nos ayuda a crecer, es una buena forma de nutrir nuestras relaciones y nuestro trabajo.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Si, fue muy cerca de mi casa en un barrio donde empece a pintar había mucho graffiti en esa zona, en ese entonces hacíamos piezas, wildstyle, caracteres, fue en el año 2003, no había mucho material en ese entonces, no había boquillas, no había marcas de aerosol, no había internet, solo pintura de ferretería y sus respectivas boquillas, era producciones muy sencillas, trazos toscos, hice mucho wildstyle en esa época. Fue una experiencia que aun no olvido, desde que fui a comprar mi material hasta que empece el trazo con una mano tosca, no tenia nada de practica, me daba un poco de miedo pero conforme hacia mi pieza empece a tomar confianza, el aroma del aerosol, el sonido, las manos pintadas todo me atrapo en ese instante, tanto que ahora después de casi 19 años sigo haciendolo.

Ahora miro atrás y veo lo mucho que ha cambiado todo, pase por distintas etapas creativas hasta llegar a encontrarme con lo que me gusta hacer y soy hoy en día.

It was an experience that I still do not forget, since I went to buy my material until I started the stroke with a rough hand, I had no practice, I was a little scared but as I made my piece I began to take confidence, the smell of spray, the sound, the painted hands all caught me at that moment, so much so that now after almost 19 years I continue doing it.

Now I look back and see how much everything has changed, I went through different creative stages until I found what I like to do and what I am today.
