¿Por qué tu tag es ASEM?

Why is your tag ASEM?

Mi firma de toda la vida es HIDRA, de hecho casi todo el mundo me llama así, también me gusta adoptar diferentes roles con firmas como Infame, Caoser… En 2013 perdí a la persona mas importante de mi vida y no levantaba cabeza, no podía ni dibujar, se me ocurrió que el Graffiti me ayudaría a mantenerla en el recuerdo para siempre así que me vinieron la siglas ASEM (Angela Siempre En Mi), y a día de hoy ese es mi tag y mensaje.

My tag is HIDRA, in fact almost everyone calls me that, I also like to adopt different roles with  tags such as Infamous, Caoser. In 2013 I lost the most important person in my life and I couldn’t go on with my life, I couldn’t even draw, it occurred to me that Graffiti would help me keep it in my memory forever so I got the acronym ASEM (Angela Always in Me), and today that’s my tag and message.

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a ser un escritor de graffiti?

What motivated you to get started being a graffiti writer?

Como todo el mundo los graffitis que veía en mi barrio (Barrio del Pilar) la fuerza de los colores, las formas imposibles de los wildstyle de los 90 como JABO de los Reyes del Mambo, me impactaron de tal manera que vi un arte único y original.

Like everyone else graffiti walls that I saw in my neighborhood  (Pilar’s neighborhood)  the force of colors, the impossible forms of the wildstyle of the 90’s like JABO of the Mambo Kings, impacted me in such a way that I saw a unique and original art.

 

 

 

¿Qué tratas de decir con tus graffitis?

What do you try to say with your graffiti?

Diversión, agresividad, el graffiti es mi válvula de escape en la que vuelco mis emociones, mi grito frente a la sociedad. Aunque realmente pretendo decorar las calles, dar color y estilo para el disfrute del que lo aprecie.

Fun, aggressiveness, graffiti is my escape valve in which I pour my emotions, my cry in front of society. Although I really intend to decorate the streets, give color and style for the enjoyment of those who appreciate it.

 

 

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

Podría decir que wildstyle, lo bonito de este estilo es que evoluciona de mil formas y abarca diferentes caminos… El graffiti a diferencia de otras disciplinas es que es difícil de catalogar y no tiene límites, eso implica que tienes libertad para combinar y experimentar, no veo necesidad de encasillar, si no meto una flecha no es wild? si meto volúmenes tengo que ceñirme a las normas de un model pastel? así que mi estilo es libre influenciado por los cómics, el Hip Hop y mis vivencias en la calle.

I could say that wildstyle, the beautiful thing about this style is that it evolves in a thousand ways and covers different paths … Graffiti unlike other disciplines is that it is difficult to catalog and has no limits, that implies that you have freedom to combine and experiment, I see no need to pigeonhole, if I do not put an arrow is not wild … if I put volumes I have to stick to the rules of a pastel model … so my style is free influenced by comics, Hip Hop and my experiences on the street.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Mi primera pieza fue en una casa abandonada en mi pueblo de Segovia en el 99 con mi primo y NAYES que fue el que me introdujo definitivamente en el Graffiti y me ayudó con el spray que en aquel momento solo lo usaba para hacer tags. Fue un desastre de pieza, el boceto era mío y parecía un queso mordisqueado con muchos chorretes, me agobié mucho. Cuando volví a Madrid decidí ir con mi primo hacerme una pieza yo solo con boceto en mano en medio de la calle de Sinesio Delgado por mi barrio, me tocó correr y no terminé. Desde entonces estuve haciendo bombing hasta que creamos una crew en el barrio, BPM, y es desde entonces (2001) cuando empecé hacer piezas mas en serio.

A día de hoy mi estilo ha evolucionado pero sin cambiar mis gustos de cuando era pequeño, siempre he buscado unas letras “molonas” no un logo rollo Coca-Cola, a día de hoy sigo combinando con fondos e ilustraciones, aunque el protagonista siempre son las letras. La sensación de ahora es mas reconfortante porque me siento mas realizado, pero en base es la misma: disfruto con mi gente de un buen rato y sigo teniendo casi la misma ansiedad cuando termino pensando “está bien pero tengo que hacerlo mejor, mejor, ¡cada vez mejor!”

My first piece was in an abandoned house in my town of Segovia in 1999 with my cousin and NAYES that was the one that introduced me definitively in the Graffiti and helped me with the spray that at that time only used it to make tags. It was a piece disaster, the sketch was mine and looked like a cheese nibbled with many squirts, I was very overwhelmed. When I returned to Madrid I decided to go with my cousin to make a piece myself with sketch in hand in the middle of the street of Sinesio Delgado in my neighborhood, I had to run and I did not finish. Since then I was doing bombing until we created a crew in the neighborhood, BPM, and it is since then (2001) when I began to make more serious pieces.

Today my style has evolved but without changing my tastes of when I was little, I have always looked for some «cool» letters not a logo roll Coca-Cola, today I still combine with backgrounds and illustrations, although the protagonist is always the letters. The feeling now is more comforting because I feel more fulfilled, but on the basis is the same: I enjoy with my people a good time and still have almost the same anxiety when I end up thinking «it’s okay but I have to do better, better, better every time!
