Why is your tag «Kraser»?

Empecé anteriormente con otro nombre, después de unos meses y por problemas con las autoridades decidí cambiar el nombre. Fue una combinación de las consonantesy vocales que me gustaban mucho, quería un nombre que no existiese pero la casualidad a hecho que sea un apellido en otros países.

At first I started with another name, but after a few months and because of problems with the police, I decided to change my name. It was a combination of vowels andconsonants which i liked a lot. I wanted a name which didnt exist, but casualty has made it to be a surname in other countries.

¿Qué fue lo que te hizo coger un spray y ponerte a pintar en las calles?
What made you take a spray can and start painting on the streets?

En el 1989 se empezó a ver por las calles de Cartagena pintadas que no tenían nada que ver con la política ni nada de todo eso, todo fue muy brusco, en muy poco tiempohabía como una especie de guerra de estilos entre dos grupos; “BWS” y “K2X3”. Hablando con un amigo sobre este tema, resulto que mi vecino puerta con puerta era uno del grupo “BWS”, empezamos a hablar y me enseño más pintadas que yo no había visto. Eso fue el detonante para que yo empezara a pintar y desde entoncés ha llovido mucho.

In 1989 one began to see on Cartagena’s streets graffiti that had nothing to do with politics or things like that. Everything was very sudden… very quickly, there was like a style war between two groups: «BWS» and «K2X3». Talking with a friend about this topic, it brought up that my next door neighbour was a member of the «BWS» group. We started talking and he showed me the rest of graffiti that I hadn’t seen. That was the detonating for me to start painting. Since then, a long time has passed.

Which is your style?

Simplemente lo que yo hago es mi trabajo, es algo personal, es Kraser.

What I do is plainly my work. It’s something personal. It’s Kraser.

Graffiti … ¿Cantidad o calidad?
Graffiti …. Quantity or Quality?

Ambas son necesarias en cualquier persona, la combinación que hace cada escritor con ella depende de el mismo.

Both are necesary in every person. The combination that each writer makes with it depends on hiself.

¿Qué tratas de decir con tus graffitis?
What you try to say with your graffiti?

A veces tiene un mensaje detrás y otras veces no, pero aunque no tenga un mensaje detrás la obra habla de por si sola.

Sometimes theres a message underneath, sometimes there’s not. But, despite not having a message, the piece speaks by herself.

¿Piensas que la sociedad acepta el graffiti?

Do you think that society accepts the graffiti?

El graffiti forma parte de esta sociedad quieran o no. A quien le guste perfecto y a quien no pues mala suerte, a mi no me gustan muchas cosas de esta sociedad y por esemotivo no voy a malgastar la vida.

Graffiti forms part of society, either if they want it or not. Great for who likes it, bad luck if they dont. There are a lot of things that i dont like about this society and i dont go fuckin’ their lives up.

What do you think about the idea of showing your art in this web as “elrincondelasboquillas.com”to let people know about you?

Me parece que lo que estáis haciendo es una muy buena iniciativa, y cualquier buena iniciativa tiene mi apoyo y con eso soy feliz.

I think that what you’re doing is a great idea. And any great idea has my support. And with that, i’m happy.

¿Qué destacarías del graffiti español?

What would you bring out about spanish graffiti?

El graffiti en España es mortal!!, no creo que haya muchos otros paises que tengan tantos escritores con talento por metro cuadrado. En este sentido si me siento orgulloso de ser español.

Spanish graffiti is awesome!!!. I can’t think about a lot more countries with that much good writers per square meter. In that way, I do feel proud of being Spanish.
