¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Empecé con Spoce simplemente porque me encantan las letras. Había mucha simetría en la composición en la S y la E. Hace un par de años mis amigos empezaron a llamarme Spocey, así que pinté ese nombre más a menudo. La Y al final me da más posibilidades y otro flujo de las letras.

When i started Spoce it was just because i love the letters. There was a lot of symmetry in the composition because the S and the E. A couple of years ago my friends start calling me Spocey so i painted that name more often. The Y at the end give me more possibilities and another flow to the letters.

 

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?

What motivated you to get started painting?

Al principio conocí a ‘Dusk’ en el grupo de amigos con el que crecí. Desde ese momento nos motivamos mutuamente a hacer muchos bocetos en las blackbooks y a salir a pintar algo. Casi 15 años después seguimos motivándonos mutuamente.               

In the very beginning I meet ‘Dusk in the group of friends where I grow up with. From that moment we pushed each other to make lots of blackbook sketches and go out to paint something. Almost 15 years later we are still motivating each other.               

 

 

 

¿Cuál es tu estilo?

What is your style?

El estilo se basa en la influencia de la vieja escuela de Nueva York, de la que soy un gran fan. Las letras y la crudeza del graffiti como debe ser. 

The style is based on the oldschool New York influence where I’m a big fan of. The letters and rawness of graffiti as it should be.

Siempre es bueno que tu trabajo se publique. Con este sitio web das a la gente la oportunidad de ver a muchos escritores diferentes y conocer algo más sobre ellos.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Recuerdo muy bien las primeras piezas, era joven y no sabía lo que estaba haciendo, pero bueno, por algo hay que empezar. Lo curioso del lugar, es que estaba en un granero nuevo a pocos metros de la casa de mis padres donde crecí. No es la mejor manera de empezar tu carrera jaja.

I remember the first pieces very well, I was young and didn’t know what I was doing but hey, you have to start somewhere. The funny fact about the spot, it was just on a new barn just a few houses from the house of my parents where I grew up. Not the best way to start your career haha.
