¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi apodo Rans viene de diferentes circunstancias y evolución, mi primer tag oficial fue Snag tenias diferentes significados en ingles, me gusto y fue el primero por el que me decante en el año 2001, posiblemente anterior a ese año no recuerdo si ya hacía algunas firmas con ese tag. Luego años mas tarde por diferentes motivos cambié a Snar y años más tarde cambié a Rans hasta día de hoy que sigo manteniéndolo.
My nickname Rans comes from different circumstances and evolution. My first official tag was Snag, which had different meanings in English. I liked it and it was the first one I chose in 2001, although I don’t remember if I was already using that tag before then. Years later, for different reasons, I changed it to Snar, and then years later I changed it to Rans, which I still use today.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Pues fue desde muy pequeño que me gustaba dibujar, pintar comics, etc y ya desde colegio me fijaba en las firmas y algunos graffiti, me flipaba y me fijaba cuando iba en coche y demás, pero no tenía logística ni entendía como llegar a realizar una cosa así grande, hasta que posteriores años empiezas a interesarte más y descubres contactos con la misma pasión como Loseta,Bnk,Nene,Gottem, etc… compartir informaciones, te desplazas y buscas graffitis para verlo en persona y alucinar delante tuya y ya a la misma vez empiezas a firmar con eddings y realizas las primeras piezas y siento que quiero y me apasiona realizar esto. Luego conoces a más gente, descubres la tienda de graffiti por excelencia de Sevilla, Suburban y es cuando estalla tu cabeza y sigues alucinando y ya no paras de pintar y de intentar evolucionar y conseguir más técnicas.
Well, ever since I was very young, I liked drawing, painting comics, etc., and even at school I would notice tags and some graffiti piece. I was fascinated by it and would look out for it when I was in the car and so on, but I didn’t have the logistics or understand how to achieve something so big, until later years when you start to become more interested and discover contacts with the same passion, such as Loseta, Bnk, Nene, Gottem, etc. You share information, you travel around looking for graffiti to see it in person and be amazed, and at the same time you start tagging with Edding pens and creating your first pieces, and you feel that you want to do this and are passionate about it. Then you meet more people, you discover Seville’s graffiti shop par excellence, Suburban, and that’s when your mind explodes and you continue to be amazed and you don’t stop painting and trying to evolve and learn more techniques.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Lo que más me gusta del graffiti es la cantidad de buenas personas con las que me he encontrado y disfrutado muchos momentos y muchas risas. Lógicamente también cuando acabas tu pieza o un buen mural con tus colegas y te quedas con una gran satisfacción personal y por otro lado lo que menos me gusta es que cada vez se está perdiendo mucha esencia del graffiti en todos sus aspectos, imagino que puede ser por la sobre información que hay y se pierde mucho más interés por el graffiti.
What I like most about graffiti is the number of good people I’ve met and enjoyed many moments and lots of laughs with. Of course, when you finish a piece or a good mural with your mates, you feel a great sense of personal satisfaction. On the other hand, what I like least is that graffiti is losing a lot of its essence in all aspects. I imagine this may be due to information overload, which leads to a loss of interest in graffiti.

Me parece una idea genial formar parte de esto y también compartir con otros compañeros y conocer diferentes historias que son muy interesantes para el mundo del graffiti y para que más gente obtenga más información de muchos escritores a lo mejor desconocidos.
I think it’s a great idea to be part of this and also to share with other colleagues and learn about different stories that are very interesting for the world of graffiti and so that more people can find out more about many writers who may be unknown.
¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
Pues mi primera pieza de Snag es del año 2001, anteriormente habría pintado cosas pero con nombres aleatorios como HipHop, breakdance y firmas o cosas así. La sensación de esa primera vez que llevaba un boceto y 4 colores (Rojo,Negro,Amarillo y Azul) fue de nervios y a la vez emocionado, iba con un colega y cerca de un colegio lo realize, mi amigo me pedía algo de pintura para firmar mientras esperaba a que yo acabase la pieza pero no se la dejaba, por que pensaba que no podría acabar y se enfadaba un poco y aun así no la acabe totalmente jejeje, con el tiempo nos reímos de esas anécdotas.
Well, my first Snag piece was in 2001. Before that, I had painted things but with random names like HipHop, breakdance and tags or things like that. The feeling of that first time I took a sketch and four colours (red, black, yellow and blue) was one of nerves and excitement at the same time. I went with a mate and did it near a school. My friend asked me for some paint to sign while he waited for me to finish the piece, but I didn’t let him have it because I thought I wouldn’t be able to finish it. He got a little angry, and even so, I didn’t finish it completely, ha ha ha. Over time, we laugh about those anecdotes.

Para terminar un placer y muy agradecido por esta oportunidad. Y para todos los escritores y nuevas generaciones que no pierdan la constancia y se mantengan en el tiempo, aunque se pasen temporadas mejores y peores, que no se pierda el GRAFFITI!!!.
