¿De dónde viene tu apodo?
Where does your pseudonym come from?
El apodo viene de la búsqueda de un nombre que sonara americano jajajaja lo elegí sobre 1988 en un libro de inglés, y por cualquier cosa KNOW me llamo mucho la atención y fue el que elegí y use hasta el día de hoy, lo poco que pude ver de graffiti era en una película y en un documental de style wars y creía que el nombre tenía que ser en inglés.
My tag comes from the search for a name that sounded American hahaha I chose it around 1988 in an English book, and for some reason KNOW caught my attention and it was the one I chose and used to this day, the little I could see of graffiti was in a movie and in a documentary about style wars and I thought the name had to be in English.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
El primer contacto que tuve con el graffiti eran unas pocas firmas que ya empezaron por la zona de mi barrio la primera oleada, en el 88 vi a un chico en mi barrio por la noche haciéndose lo que en Madrid se llamaba grosor, era un chico q ponía ROMPE era muy activo con un estilo flechero o autóctono como algunos dicen, seguidamente vi la película documental style wars y eso fue lo que me voló la cabeza y lo que hizo que quisiera pintar graffiti, desde ese momento nunca dejé de hacerlo.
The first contact I had with graffiti were a few tags that already started in my neighborhood, the first wave, in 88 I saw a kid in my neighborhood at night doing what in Madrid was called ‘flecheros’, he was a kid who said ROMPE, he was very active with a flechero or autochthonous style from Madrid as some say, then I saw the documentary film style wars and that was what blew my mind and what made me want to paint graffiti, from that moment I never stopped doing it.

What I like most about graffiti is the freedom, creativity, travel, adventure, places, adrenaline, and meeting people from all over the world and being able to share what unites us all, which is graffiti.
¿Y lo que menos te gusta?
And the worst thing of graffiti?
Lo que menos digamos es la degradación del graffiti, ya no tiene la pureza de esos primeros tiempos, ya no tiene la naturalidad y esa frescura en la que todos teníamos que aprender, entiendo que son nuevas generaciones y todo cambia, hay que aceptarlo pero este es mi pensamiento personal, el graffiti pocas cosas negativas me aporto la verdad, me vale más todo lo que me me ha dado, tengo más que agradecer que quejarme.
What we say the least is the degradation of graffiti, it no longer has the purity of those early days, it no longer has the naturalness and that freshness that we all had to learn, I understand that these are new generations and everything changes, you have to accept it but this is my personal thought, graffiti has given me few negative things, honestly, I value more than everything it has given me, I have more to be thankful for than to complain about.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?
Do you remember the first piece?
La primera pieza siempre es inolvidable pienso yo, la recuerdo perfectamente además, tengo hasta foto de ella que muy pocos pueden decir eso, en 1989 y fue en una caseta de obra y puse PEACE, en principio iba ser una pieza conjunta con un amigo ya que no teníamos pintura y juntamos lo de los dos, eran 4 botes que conseguimos robar de novelty, la pieza era azul claro bordes azul oscuro con 3d plata, al final la hice yo solo porque mi amigo le dio miedo y me dio su pintura, y seguí poniendo peace que era la idea inicial, la siguiente si puse know, pero esa primera pieza me encantó esa sensación y el olor de la pintura, en la primera siempre se sufre mucho por no saber ni que hacer y menos en esos tiempos que nadie te podía enseñar o ver en un tutorial ajjajaja pero fue la polla y ya acabé enganchado hasta el día de hoy.
The first piece is always unforgettable I think, I remember it perfectly, I even have a photo of it, which very few can say, in 1989 and it was in a construction shed and I put PEACE, at first it was going to be a joint piece with a friend since we didn’t have any paint and we put together both of ours, there were 4 cans that we managed to steal from Novelty, the piece was light blue with dark blue edges with silver 3d, in the end I did it alone because my friend was scared and gave me his paint, and I continued writing peace which was the initial idea, the next one I did put know, but I loved that first piece, that feeling and the smell of the paint, in the first one you always suffer a lot because you don’t know what to do and even less in those times when nobody could teach you or see you in a tutorial hahahaha but it was the best and I ended up hooked until today.

And finally, anything you want to say?
Solo decir que el graffiti no pare que se mantenga real, que no hagáis caso de modas ni falsos influencers del graffiti, solo pintar, disfrutar y no dejar que muera.
No es por dinero, no es por fama, solamente graffiti, si lo amas te dará más de lo que pueda quitarte, tan solo hazlo!
I just want to say that graffiti doesn’t stop at keeping it real, that you shouldn’t pay attention to trends or fake graffiti influencers, just paint, enjoy, and don’t let it die.
It’s not about money, it’s not about fame, it’s just graffiti. If you love it, it will give you more than it can take away, just do it!
