Filos

From a very young age, I was always involved in drawing and painting. When I was in school, I began to notice the things that were being painted at the time, which sparked my interest and curiosity. After that, for a long time, I started with many sketches before moving on to the wall.

Desde muy niño siempre estuve relacionado con el dibujo y la pintura. Cuando estaba en el colegio, comencé a percatarme de las cosas que se pintaban en ese entonces, lo cual genero en mí inquietud y curiosidad. Luego de eso, durante un largo tiempo inicié con muchos bocetos antes de ir al muro.

¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Mi tag proviene de la definición de filo, la cual es algo que divide una cosa en dos partes, en ese sentido, mi vida tiene un antes y un después al momento de conocer el graffiti. Esto genera en mi un sinfín de cosas que me han permitido crecer en muchos sentidos, entonces, el graffiti es ese filo en mi vida y por ello ese es mi tag.

My tag comes from the definition of “edge,” which is something that divides one thing into two parts. In that sense, my life has a before and after when it comes to graffiti. It has brought me countless things that have allowed me to grow in many ways, so graffiti is that edge in my life, and that’s why it’s my tag.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?

Lo que más me gusta es que he podido conocer grandes personas y grandes artistas, visitado muchos lugares y todo lo que he podido aprender de mis experiencias pintando. También es que puedo ser yo mismo donde me siento libre y pleno.

 Tal vez lo que menos me gusta es lo que en algunos casos la dinámica del ego hace en todo esto de manera negativa, pero es importante entender que cada quien lo vive a su manera. Sin embargo, en general todo me gusta.

What I like most is that I have been able to meet great people and great artists, visit many places, and learn so much from my experiences painting. It’s also that I can be myself where I feel free and fulfilled.

Perhaps what I like least is what, in some cases, the dynamics of the ego do in all this in a negative way, but it’s important to understand that everyone experiences it in their own way. However, in general, I like everything.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web «elrincondelasboquillas.com»?

En primer lugar, es un gusto y un honor el poder publicar mis piezas en este medio tan importante y representa para mí un reflejo de la dedicación y la pasión que siento por esto, de trabajar y seguir evolucionando en mi camino. Por otra parte me gusta mucho que por medios como este se siga promoviendo y trabajando por mantener vigente todo esto. 

First of all, it is a pleasure and an honor to be able to publish my pieces in such an important website, and for me it reflects the dedication and passion I feel for this, for working and continuing to evolve on my path. On the other hand, I really like that media outlets like this continue to promote and work to keep all of this alive.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Claro que sí, lo recuerdo bien, era el año 2013 y ese día mi madre cumplía años, recuerdo que salí muy temprano a comprarle unas flores y de paso compré unos aerosoles pues ya estaba decidido a pintar, fui, le entregué las flores, la abracé y salí a pintar. Ese día hubo mucha adrenalina y alegría, la reacción de las personas y todo fue una mezcla indescriptible. Desde ese entonces esta pasión no se ha detenido y cada vez más crece.

Of course, I remember it well. It was 2013, and it was my mother’s birthday. I remember leaving very early to buy her some flowers, and I also bought some spray paint because I had already decided to paint. I went to her house, gave her the flowers, hugged her, and went out to paint. That day was full of adrenaline and joy. People’s reactions and everything else were an indescribable mix of emotions. Since then, this passion has not stopped and continues to grow.

Agradecerles por este gran espacio y que pase lo que pase o pese al momento en el nos encontremos, no dejemos de dibujar, de crear cosas y más importante, no dejar de pintar.
