Where does your pseudonym come from?
Mi nombre nació en 2002. Al principio de mi actividad, solía escribir cosas diferentes. Unos amigos aficionados al rap habían grabado una canción llamada «Sucker Buster». De ahí surgió BUSTER… luego BASTER… BAS – corto y con garra.
My name was born in 2002. In the early days of my activity, I used to write different things. Some friends who were into rap had recorded a song called “Sucker Buster.” From there came BUSTER… then BASTER… BAS — short and punchy.
¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar?
What motivated you to get started painting?
Empecé buscando por toda mi pequeña ciudad piezas de CASTEL (R.I.P.) y SUPER – este último, antaño un héroe, ahora un amigo con el que hoy lo comparto todo, incluida nuestra crew. A partir de ese momento, no perdí ni un segundo: me sumergí en la investigación, tratando de entender lo que realmente significaban esos colores y letras… “Wild style”, “Beat Street”, y luego vinieron ‘Style: Writing from the Underground’, “Spraycan Art”… Cada momento que pasaba dibujando me parecía más intenso que el anterior. El olor a pintura, el silencio nocturno de las estaciones… Una historia sin fin.
I started by looking everywhere around my little town for pieces by CASTEL (R.I.P.) and SUPER — the latter, once a hero, now a friend with whom I share everything today, including our crew. From that moment on, I didn’t waste a second: I dove into research, trying to understand what those colors and letters really meant… ‘wild style,’ ‘Beat Street,’ and then came ‘Style: Writing from the Underground,’ ‘Spraycan Art’… Every moment spent drawing felt more intense than the one before. The smell of paint, the silence of the stations at night… Simply a never-ending story.
¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?
What do you like most about graffiti and what do you like least?
Me encanta casi todo de este juego: la investigación, el estudio, el respeto, las amistades, incluso el amor que crea. Pero lo que no soporto es lo que le han hecho las redes sociales. Hoy en día, puedes ser una supuesta leyenda del graffiti en Internet sin haber tocado nunca una pared en la calle. Eso es una gilipollez.
I love almost everything about this game — the research, the study, the respect, the friendships, even the love it builds. But what I can’t stand is what social media has done to it. Nowadays, you can be a so-called graffiti legend online without ever having touched a wall in the streets. That’s just bullshit.

Do you remember the first piece?
Por supuesto, recuerdo mi primera «pieza de color» en una pared. Fue en el campo, allá por el año 2000, con dos amigos de aquella época. Las emociones que sentí aquel día no dejaron de crecer, día tras día, pieza tras pieza. Después de 25 años, pintar sigue golpeándome como uno de los sentimientos más reales y poderosos que puedo experimentar. Permanece contigo. Nunca se desvanece.
Of course I remember my first “colored piece” on a wall. It was out in the countryside, back in 2000, with two friends from that time. The emotions I felt that day just kept growing — day after day, piece after piece. After 25 years, painting still hits me like one of the realest, most powerful feelings I can experience. It stays with you. It never fades.
