¿De dónde viene tu apodo? 

Where does your pseudonym come from?

Mi nombre es OAKER inspirado en el nombre del árbol OAK. Empecé a hacer graffitis en 2004. Mi primer nombre fue AHMED, luego el segundo fue SHOP, y luego cambié a OAK en 2006, luego añadí ‘ER’ en 2011.

My name is OAKER inspired by the name of OAK tree. I started doing graffiti in 2004. My first name was AHMED then second was SHOP, and then change to OAK in 2006, next I added ‘ER’ in 2011.

 

 

 

¿Qué te motivó para empezar a pintar? 

What motivated you to get started painting?

Aprendí a hacer graffitis cuando estaba en el instituto (2004). Me interesa la cultura HipHop desde el rap, el breakdance y el graffiti. En los primeros cuatro años sólo hice vándalos, muchas pompas y tags. Sólo quiero difundir mi nombre en todas partes, para que todo el mundo pueda ver mi nombre. Luego aprendí sobre las piezas de graffiti, el estilo y los colores para después, en 2008.

I learnt graffiti when I was in high school (2004). I interest in HipHop culture from music rap, breakdance and graffiti. In the first four year i did only vandals, a lot of throwies and tags. I just wanna spread my name in everywhere, so everyone can see my name. Then I learn about graffiti piece, style and colours for afterward in 2008.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

En aquel entonces, en 2004. Me monté en mi bicicleta y traje 2 latas de negro y rojo, escribir la letra recta ‘TAG’ y firmar mi nombre ‘AHMED’ y ‘2004’ debajo de ella en la pared blanca en la esquina de la calle. Me atraparon y me gritaron, así que entré en pánico y corrí de inmediato. Me olvidé por completo de mi bicicleta, y cuando volví al lugar me di cuenta de que me la habían robado.

Hoy en día puedo pintar con facilidad y disfruto haciéndolo, así que puedo disfrutar del proceso.

Back then in 2004. I ride my bike and bring 2 cans which is black and red, write straight letter ‘TAG’ and tag my name ‘AHMED’ and ‘2004’ under it on the white wall at the corner of the street. I got caught and yelled, so i got panic and run right away. Totally forgot about my bike, when I going back to the spot I realize my bike got stolen.

Nowadays I can paint easily and enjoy doing it, so I can enjoy the process.
