¿De dónde viene tu apodo?

Where does your pseudonym come from?

El nombre «Mucho» me fue dado cuando llegué a la Tierra. El nombre, junto con su significado, fue elegido para ayudarme a plasmar y traducir mi estilo maximalista, de modo que pudiera ser percibido por el ser humano. Dado que mi producción creativa es una fuente inagotable de estilo libre, y que mi estilo está repleto de una infinidad de detalles e ismos, sentí que era un nombre muy adecuado.

The name Mucho was given to me when I arrived to earth. The name, with its meaning was chosen to help me manifest and translate my maximalistic style so it can be perceived by man. Since my creative output is a never-ending free style fountain, and my style is armed with an infinite amount of details and isms, I felt it was a suiting name.

What motivated you to get started painting?

Todas las cosas. Everything.

¿Qué es lo que más te gusta del graffiti y lo que menos?

What do you like most bout graffiti and what do you like least? 

Lo que más me gusta es pintar. Coger la bolsa de la última vez, añadir un par de colores nuevos, usar lo que hay dentro y ver qué sale. Lo que menos me gusta es ver pintar a los demás.

What I like the most about it is to paint. To grab the bag from the last time, add a couple of new colours and use what is in there and see what happens. The thing I like the least is to watch others paint.

What do you think about the idea of us publishing your artworks on our web?

Me parece genial y estoy muy agradecido de poder mostrar mi trabajo a un público «nuevo» y más amplio.

I think it’s great and I’m thankful to get to show my work to a”new” and wider audience.

¿Te acuerdas de la primera pieza?

Do you remember the first piece?

Pinté mi primera pieza de toyaco en 1988; tenía el relleno amarillo, como la pintura de las carreteras, y el contorno negro. No tengo ninguna foto de ella, pero ojalá la tuviera. La recuerdo grande, bonita y amarilla, pero en realidad probablemente fuera pequeña y fea. Pero sin duda era amarilla. Ponía «BULL».

I painted my first toy piece in 1988, it had yellow road paint fill and black outline. I don’t have a picture of it but I wish I did. I remember it as big, beautiful and yellow, but in reality it was probably little and ugly. But it was definitely yellow. It said BULL.

¡Espero que disfrutes de mi trabajo y te resulte interesante! Intento crear estilos que hagan un sutil guiño a la historia de la escritura de moda, pero al mismo tiempo busco experimentar con nuevas ideas. La improvisación es una parte importante de mi trabajo, y disfruto de la incertidumbre que surge durante el proceso creativo. Quiero que mis piezas resulten a la vez intrigantes y estimulantes.

I hope you enjoy my work and find it interesting! I try to do styles that subtly references the history of style writing, but at the same time I aim to experiment with new ideas. Improvisation is an important part of my work, and I enjoy the uncertainty that occurs during the creative process. I want my pieces to be both intriguing and challenging to take in at the same time.
